  3. the development and enlargement of city structure has caused the environmental problems on watershed of Latian dam which is one of the drinking water resourses of Tehran. The enlargement of Lavasan town and existence of an army garrison that it's effluents of treatment plant discharge to this river necessitate a water quality surveillance in entrance area of the dam. The present research includes the survey of this river's self-purification in the mentioned-above area. Numerical analysis is used in different methods to explain self- purification. Frist, we have the numerical analysis and analytical methods for a known sample in order to determine the accuracy and deviation between two processes. The experiments were carried out in two main stations of Hajiabad and Lashkarak Bridge. The distance between two stations is 9.5 km. The following characteristics: BOD5(mg/l), DO(mg/l), and T(°C) were measured. The following average results were obtained for upstream station Hajiabad:2.83(mg/1), 9.6(mg/l) and 15.3(°C) and for downstream station Lashkarak Bridge: 2.72(mg/l), 9.88(mg/l) and 15.8(°C).The army garrison stands between these stations. The simulation was done by Streeter-Phelps model with Bin=0 condition. The solutions were determined by exact integration without using numerical analysis method. The results show that discharging of effluents dose not any impact on self-purification of the river and it shows an acceptable concordance about 98% with model. But the test done on the downstream of second station with 5 km of distance which is in the town's area, show that the urbane wastewater pollutes the river and the model can not simulate the situation with Bin=0 condition
