Polyamide/titania hollow nanofibers prepared by core–shell electrospinning as a microextractive phase in a fabricated sandwiched format microfluidic device

    , Article Journal of Chromatography A ; Volume 1528 , 2017 , Pages 1-9 ; 00219673 (ISSN) Rezvani, O ; Hashemi Hedeshi, M ; Bagheri, H ; Sharif University of Technology
    Abstract
In this study, a low–cost microfluidic device from polymethyl methacrylate was fabricated by laser engraving technique. The device is consisted of a central chip unit with an aligned microchannel. Both sides of the engraved microchannel were sandwiched by two synthesized sheets from polyamide/titania (PA/TiO2) hollow nanofibers as extractive phases. The inlet and outlet of the device were connected to the polyether ether ketone tubes, while a peristaltic pump was used to deliver both sample and desorbing solvent through the microchannel. The recorded scanning electron microscopy images from the surface of the synthesized PA/TiO2 nanofibers, exhibit a good degree of homogeneity and porosity...

The field effect transistor DNA biosensor based on ITO nanowires in label-free hepatitis B virus detecting compatible with CMOS technology

    , Article Biosensors and Bioelectronics ; Volume 105 , 15 May , 2018 , Pages 58-64 ; 09565663 (ISSN) Shariati, M ; Sharif University of Technology
    Elsevier Ltd  2018
    Abstract
In this paper the field-effect transistor DNA biosensor for detecting hepatitis B virus (HBV) based on indium tin oxide nanowires (ITO NWs) in label free approach has been fabricated. Because of ITO nanowires intensive conductance and functional modified surface, the probe immobilization and target hybridization were increased strongly. The high resolution transmission electron microscopy (HRTEM) measurement showed that ITO nanowires were crystalline and less than 50 nm in diameter. The single-stranded hepatitis B virus DNA (SS-DNA) was immobilized as probe on the Au-modified nanowires. The DNA targets were measured in a linear concentration range from 1fM to 10 µM. The detection limit of...

Immersed sol-gel based amino-functionalized SPME fiber and HPLC combined with post-column photochemically induced fluorimetry derivatization and fluorescence detection of pyrethroid insecticides from water samples

    , Article Journal of Separation Science ; Volume 32, Issue 17 , 2009 , Pages 2912-2918 ; 16159306 (ISSN) Bagheri, H ; Ghanbarnejad, H ; Khalilian, F ; Sharif University of Technology
    2009
    Abstract
A method based on direct immersion solid-phase microextraction (DI-SPME) coupled with high performance liquid chromatography combined with post-column photochemically induced fluorimetry derivatization and fluorescence detection (HPLC-PIF-FD) was developed to extract three pyrethroid insecticides, i.e. cyfluthrin, cypermethrin, and flumethrin from water samples. A sol-gel based coating fiber using 3-(trimethoxysilyl propyl) amine as precursor was prepared and used for the extraction of the pyrethroids from groundwater samples. A post-column photochemical reactor was designed and constructed for the derivatization of these environmentally important pollutants to increase their fluorescence...

Design and evaluation of a novel triaxial isometric trunk muscle strength measurement system

    , Article Proceedings of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, Part H: Journal of Engineering in Medicine ; Volume 223, Issue 6 , 2009 , Pages 755-766 ; 09544119 (ISSN) Azghani, M. R ; Farahmand, F ; Meghdari, A ; Vossoughi, G ; Parnianpour, M ; Sharif University of Technology
    2009
    Abstract
Maximal strength measurements of the trunk have been used to evaluate the maximum functional capacity of muscles and the potential mechanical overload or overuse of the lumbar spine tissues in order to estimate the risk of developing musculoskeletal injuries. A new triaxial isometric trunk strength measurement system was designed and developed in the present study, and its reliability and performance was investigated. The system consisted of three main revolute joints, equipped with torque sensors, which intersect at L5-S1 and adjustment facilities to fit the body anthropometry and to accommodate both symmetric and asymmetric postures in both seated and standing positions. The dynamics of...

The geometrical characteristics of nickel-based metal organic framework on its entrapment capability

    , Article Journal of Chromatography A ; Volume 1610 , 2020 Javanmardi, H ; Abbasi, A ; Bagheri, H ; Sharif University of Technology
    Elsevier B.V  2020
    Abstract
Here, a three dimensional nickel–based metal organic framework (MOF) was synthesized via solvothermal and room temperature protocols. In order to study the effects of the synthesis conditions on the physical properties such as pore sizes and shapes of the prepared MOFs, their extraction capabilities were examined. Both MOFs were characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, powder X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy, Brunauer–Emmett–Teller and thermogravimetric analyses. Brilliant properties such as porous structure, high surface area and considerable thermal stability make them reasonable candidates to be employed as efficient extractive phases. The efficiency of the...

Reinforced polydiphenylamine nanocomposite for microextraction in packed syringe of various pesticides

    , Article Journal of Chromatography A ; Volume 1222 , January , 2012 , Pages 13-21 ; 00219673 (ISSN) Bagheri, H ; Ayazi, Z ; Es'haghi, A ; Aghakhani, A ; Sharif University of Technology
    2012
    Abstract
Reinforced polydiphenylamine (PDPA) nanocomposite was synthesized by oxidation of diphenylamine in 4molL-1 sulfuric acid solution containing a fixed amount of carbon nanotubes (CNTs) in the presence of cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB). The surface characteristic of PDPA and PDPA/CNT nanocomposites was investigated using scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The prepared PDPA/CNT nanocomposite was used as an extraction medium for microextraction in packed syringe (MEPS) of selected pesticides from aquatic environment. The effect of CNT doping level and the presence of surfactant on the extraction capability of nanocomposite was investigated and it was revealed that when 4% (w/w) of CNT in...
