    Abstract
    The voltammetric performance of edge-plane pyrolytic graphite (EPG) electrode via adsorptive stripping voltammetry was investigated for study of the electrochemical behavior of omeprazole (OMZ) in aqueous solution. The results revealed that the oxidation of OMZ is an irreversible pH-dependent process that proceeds with the transfer of one electron and one proton in an adsorption-controlled mechanism. The determination conditions, such as the pH values of the supporting electrolyte, accumulation time and scan rate were optimized.     In this study, we have investigated the bioleaching potential of a native strain of Acidithiobacillus ferrooxidans isolated from zinc and lead sulfide mines under varied ambient conditions of growth and substrate consumption. In the process of standardizing growth conditions to improve iron oxidation, bioleaching of zinc and lead is also found to be enhanced. The effects of pH, temperature, initial inoculum, Fe2+ and ammonium sulphate concentration on growth and bio-oxidation efficiency of the bacteria have been evaluated.     The adsorptive removal of terephthalic acid (TPA) and p-toluic acid (p-tol) by metal organic frameworks (MOF) of Cu-BTC, Fe-BTC, MIL-101(Cr) and MIL-53(Al) was investigated in this study. The influence of various factors including solution pH, contact time, and initial concentration of TPA and p-tol solutions on the adsorption behavior was evaluated. Different adsorption isotherms and kinetic models were used to fit experimental adsorption data.     Abstract
    The objective of this study was to investigate the synergistic effect of TBP on the system D2EHPA/kerosense/M2+ with respect to the extraction of some transitional metals. Although the presence of M2EHPA as an impurity in D2EHPA shifts the extraction curves to lower pH, empirical results show that the extraction curves shift to the right due to the addition of TBP and the counterbalance effect of M2EHPA. The results indicate that the equivalent concentration of D2EHPA decreases as a function of concentration of TBP because of the formation of hydrogen bonds between TBP and D2EHPA.     In this paper, attention is paid to synthesis and swelling behavior of a superabsorbent hydrogel based carboxymethylcellulose (CMC) and polyacrylonitrile (PAN). The physical mixture of CMC and PAN was hydrolyzed in NaOH solution to yield hydrogel, CMC-poly(NaAA-co-AAm). During alkaline hydrolysis, the nitrile groups of PAN were completely converted to a mixture of hydrophilic carboxamide and carboxylate groups followed by in situ crosslinking of the grafted PAN chains.     Abstract
    Liquid phase deposition is a method to grow conformal TiO2 films with good crystallinity on various substrates. The growth depends on the hydrophilicity of the substrate surface and we found that mica is a substrate capable of forming uniform and thick films. Films were grown using an aqueous solution of TiF4 through a hydrolysis-condensation process. We have studied films properties; morphology, porosity and thickness, in terms of growth conditions, i.e. TiF4 concentration, growth temperature, deposition time and pH.     The objective of this research work was to obtain a microorganism capable of decolorizing treated distillery wastewater (TDW). 21 isolated and procured microorganisms were screened for their percentage decolorization. The screening strategy was performed using three different culture media in two main steps. The primary screening was carried out in two stages. In the first stage 10 microorganisms had a lower than 25% decolorization of TDW (with 25% TDW concentration). In the second stage 8 microorganisms had more than a 48% decolorization of TDW.     The immobilization of cellulase onto non-porous ultrafine silica particles was studied. Cellulase was extracted from a Trichoderma reesei culture after partial purification with ammonium sulfate (pH = 5.0), which was then immobilized onto non-porous ultrafine silica particles, with or without the use of glutaraldehyde as a crosslinking agent. Cellulase was immobilized by adsorption onto ultrafine silica particles efficiently, as well as by covalent cross-linking with glutaraldehysde.     In this article, we synthesize a novel gelatin-based superabsorbent hydrogel via graft copolymerization of mixtures of acrylic acid (AA) and acrylamide (AAm) onto gelatin backbones. The polymerization reaction was carried out in an aqueous medium and in the presence of ammonium persulfate (APS) as an initiator and N,N-methylene bisacrylamide (MBA) as a crosslinker.     The removal performance of total poly phenols and orthodiphenols (o-diphenols) content in olive mill waste (OMW) was investigated with a three stages cross flow laboratory scale rotating biological contactor (RBC) in the present study.
