    A study on strain ageing during and after warm rolling of a carbon steel

    Abstract
    In this study, strain ageing during and after warm rolling of a carbon steel has been investigated. At the first step, the occurrence of serrated flow was studied by means of tensile tests at different temperatures and strain rates. In the next stage, warm rolling experiments were performed under different rolling conditions and then the samples were aged at the room temperature for a period of 3 months. For both aged and non-aged samples, tensile tests were employed to evaluate their mechanical properties.     Nutrient disorder and presence of disease-causing agents in soilless media negatively influence the growth of muskmelon. To combat these issues, use of environmentally-friendly sanitation techniques is crucial for increased crop productivity. The study was conducted under greenhouse and field conditions to investigate the effect of two different sanitation techniques: steaming and formalin fumigation on various media’s characteristics and their impact on muskmelon yield.     Abstract
    In this paper, dynamic strain aging (DSA) behavior in a temperature range of (25-235°C) and strain rate range of (10-4-5×10-2s-1) was investigated using a supersaturated age hardenable aluminum alloy. It was found that two mechanisms consisted of pinning of solute atoms to mobile dislocations and dynamic precipitation, were responsible for DSA in the testing conditions. The effects of both mechanisms on the macroscopic flow curve were studied using experimental and improved physically based material modeling approaches.     A new integrated physically based constitutive model was developed for an age hardenable Al- Mg-Si alloy. The kinetics of precipitation during various stages of aging was modelled. The precipitate features consisted of particle radius and volume fraction obtained from the kinetics model, which was used to compute the alloy yield strength/hardness.     Thermo-mechanical responses, developed microstructure, and mechanical properties in friction stir welding (FSW) of artificially aged AA2017 plates were investigated. A finite element analysis was first employed to evaluate hot deformation behavior of the alloy during welding.     Equal channel angular pressing (ECAP) was used before and after various aging treatments in order to strengthen a commercial 6082 Al alloy. Experiments were carried out to study the strengthening of the alloy due to pre and post-ECAP aging treatment. It was found that aging before and after ECAP processing is an effective method for strengthening of the alloy.     Aging has become a critical CMOS reliability issue in nanoscales. In general, the aging effect is exhibited as an increase in the delay of the combinational parts and robustness degradation of memory structures. To monitor the aging state of the combinational parts, this paper proposes an aging sensor that is combined with the flip-flops of a chip. The function of this sensor is based on monitoring the stability violation of the critical path output, before the rising edge of the clock signal.     This paper puts forward a new methodology for time-variant seismic risk analysis of transportation networks. Risk here denotes the probability of exceeding the sum of direct loss due to repair costs of bridges in the network and indirect loss due to the reduced capacity for traffic flow. The proposed methodology employs reliability methods and a host of probabilistic models for earthquake events, damage, repair cost, downtime, and travel time, while accounting for time-varying phenomena of aging and discounting.     Cu-1·5Cr alloy was successfully produced by a new method, composed of alloying via melting in a non-protected atmosphere followed by rapid cooling in a water cooled mould. The effects of deformation magnitude during T10 treatment on microstructure, electrical conductivity and hardness of alloy were also investigated.     An age-hardening model has been developed to predict the evolution of the hardness of Al-Mg-Si alloys during non-isothermal ageing before peak age. The concurrent precipitation and dissolution have been considered in the structural model. Then the structural model has been combined with strengthening model to predict the precipitation-hardening behavior of the alloy AA6061.     Nickel titanium shape memory alloys (NiTi-SMAs) were successfully produced from elemental Ni/Ti powders by powder metallurgical method and then subjected to age treatment. Microstructure was examined by SEM and XRD and phase transformation temperatures were measured by dilatometric method.
