    Micro Arc Oxidation Coating on Magnesium Alloy AZ31 and Study its CorrosionBehavior in Physiological Solution

    Abstract
    Magnesium and its alloys have been used as biodegradable implements in recent years. However Magnesium implements may corrode in the body before the natural healing process of the damaged tissue. MAO process was studied in order to reduce primary corrosion of Magnesium alloy in Simulated Body Fluid (SBF). MAO coating was created on AZ31 alloy in a nontoxic alkaline-silicate solution at DC current densities of 5, 10, 15 and 20 mA/cm2 for 30 minutes and the current was in form of 20-10-5 mA/cm2 steps that each were applied for 10 minutes.     Abstract
    Bioactive glasses are able to bond to soft and hard tissues in living body and their application as coating on metallic implants like 316L stainless steel has two important effects: (1) intimate link between bone and materials and (2) corrosion protection of metallic implant in body fluid and protection from tissues in front of corrosion products. Therefore, in this research, 45S5 bioactive glass prepared via sol- gel method was dip coated on 316L stainless steel substrates and its characteristics was investigated.Results of phase analysis showed that by sintering 45S5 bioglass at 600 ˚C for 5 h, an amorph sample with small amount of Na2Ca2Si3O9 was obtained.     A Study on Properties of Composite Coating with Al2O3 Base Prepared by Hard Anodizing with ZrO2 Nanoparticles

    In this study anodized none composite and composite film containing ZrO2 nanoparticles were prepared on 1050 Al Alloy using hard anodizing method in sulfuric and oxalic acid mixed solution by pulse Currents. The microstructure and properties of the film were studied by field emission scanning electron microscopy with EDS analyzer and XRD diffraction and friction wear test were performed to evaluate the mechanical properties of coating . One of the approaches to prevent algae and moss to grow is using paint coatings including biocides.     In this research Feasibility of application of oxide compounds of bismuth, molybdenum and tin as biocide was studied. So some epoxy paints with different ratio of these compounds were formulated. Afterward some tests were performed to assessment paints properties such as leaching rate, antifouling activity, adhesion, corrosion resistance and impact resistance. Results of leaching rate test showed that increase in the ratio of bismuth oxide from 10% to 60%, led to increase leaching rate from 0.029mg.day-1.cm-2 to 0.126mg.day-1.cm-2. beside that Microscopic results showed proved that the ratio of bismuth oxide in the cured coating is 25% of the paint formulate.
