    Adaptive search window for object tracking in the crowds using undecimated wavelet packet features

    Abstract
    In this paper, we propose an adaptive object tracking algorithm in crowded scenes. The amplitudes of of Undecimated Wavelet Packet Tree coefficients for some selected pixels at the object border are used to create a Feature Vector (FV) corresponding to that pixel. The algorithm uses these FVs to track the pixels of small square blocks located at the vicinity of the object boundary. The search window is adapted through the use of texture information of the scene by finding the direction and speed of the object motion.     This paper reports on the NTIRE 2021 challenge on perceptual image quality assessment (IQA), held in conjunction with the New Trends in Image Restoration and Enhancement workshop (NTIRE) workshop at CVPR 2021. As a new type of image processing technology, perceptual image processing algorithms based on Generative Adversarial Networks (GAN) have produced images with more realistic textures.     Despite the great use of concrete, tensile strength and low flexibility and brittleness are its weaknesses. Many solutions have been provided to eliminate the mentioned defects. In order to increase the flexibility of concrete in previous studies, crushed rubber tire particles have been added to concrete. Recycling car tires helps the environment and makes concrete much more flexible than regular concrete.     This study attempts to find an optimum combination of the welding tool rotation rate (ω) and traveling speed (υ), concerning the corrosion and mechanical properties of Friction Stir Welded (FSWed) AA5052 Aluminum alloy.     Abstract
    Plates of AA5052 (Al-Mg) alloy in both annealed (solution-treated) and wrought (rolled) temper conditions were subjected to friction stir processing (FSP) at various w/. v pitch ratios from 4 to 28. rev.min/mm. The role of stored strain energy on the evolution of restoration mechanisms and crystallographic texture components were assessed in terms of microstructural features evaluated using electron back-scattered diffraction (EBSD) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM) analysis.     Abstract
    The quasi-static and strain-controlled fatigue characteristics of ZK60 extrusion have been investigated along three different directions: the extrusion direction (ED), the radial direction (RD), and 45° to the extrusion direction (45°). The quasi-static response showed symmetric behavior for the samples tested along RD and 45° whereas the ED samples manifested completely asymmetric behavior. Although the ED samples exhibited longer fatigue lives than the RD and 45° in the high cycle fatigue, the fatigue lives in the low cycle fatigue regime were similar.     Effects of the grain size on the forming limits of stainless steel 316 L sheets are investigated using crystal plasticity finite element method (CPFEM) by modeling of all grains. For preparing simulation models with different grain morphology, a grain generator code is developed.     Abstract
    The anisotropic fatigue behavior of ZK60 is investigated through stress-control tests along two different material directions: extrusion (ED) and radial (RD) directions. The in-plane random texture along RD promotes activation of twinning/detwinning deformations in both tension and compression reversals, which brings about a sigmoidal but near-symmetric shape for hysteresis loops. The stress-strain response along ED is asymmetric, which is attributed to different deformation mechanisms in tension and compression reversals.     A complete cycle of droplet nucleation, growth, coalescence and jumping on different textured hydrophobic and superhydrophobic surfaces is studied for the first time, using a 2-D double distribution function thermal lattice Boltzmann method. First, droplet nucleation mechanism on smooth and rough surfaces is studied in detail. The results reveal the presence of cooled vapor layer instability in the condensation on completely smooth surfaces.     The fabrication of Ni/Ti laminated composite via cross accumulative roll bonding (CARB) and subsequent annealing treatment has been studied. The relationships between annealing conditions and microstructure at interfaces of Ni/Ti have been investigated by SEM, XRD, and EDS analyses. The results show that the layers were well-bonded by the CARB process, and by increasing the temperature and time of annealing treatment, the interfacial layers grew as a result of the interdiffusion of Ni and Ti atoms.     The effects of zinc content (2 and 4 wt%), heat treatment (solution-Treated and T6), as well as hot deformation (extrusion and multi-directional forging (MDF)) on the microstructure, mechanical and degradation behavior of Mg-Zn alloys were studied. As the result of microstructure refinement, solid solution and precipitate strengthening (formation of MgZn second phases), the strength of pure Mg was increased after Zn addition.
