    Abstract
Smart drug delivery systems (DDSs) have attracted the attention of many scientists, as carriers that can be stimulated by changes in environmental parameters such as temperature, pH, light, electromagnetic fields, mechanical forces, etc. These smart nanocarriers can release their cargo on demand when their target is reached and the stimulus is applied. Using the techniques of nanotechnology, these nanocarriers can be tailored to be target-specific, and exhibit delayed or controlled release of drugs. Temperature-responsive nanocarriers are one of most important groups of smart nanoparticles (NPs) that have been investigated during the past decades. Temperature can either act as an external...

    Abstract
A novel, magnetic nanocarrier was successfully synthesized through a facile and economical producer in which Fe3O4 magnetic nanoparticles were coated by starch-g-poly (methyl methacrylate-co-PEG-acrylamide). The surface of nanocarrier was then modified by hydrazine to preparation of a pH-responsive carrier. The resulted nanocarrier was applied for delivery of doxorubicin (DOX) as an effective anti-cancer drug. DOX was reacted with hydrazine linkage on the surface of nanocarrier to form hydrazone bond. Due to the presence of numerous hydrazine groups on the surface of magnetic nanocarrier large amounts of DOX was loaded onto the carrier (327 mg g−1). © 2016 The Korean Society of Industrial...

    Abstract
Asynchronous microprocessors are more flexible to adapt to physical parameters, and have lower power consumption than synchronous microprocessors. In this paper we will introduce the design of an asynchronous microprocessor (V8-uRISC) and explore its design process compared to synchronous design. The processor is synthesized by Persia, an automatic tool for synthesizing asynchronous circuits. We have performed full functional test at various levels of design and synthesis. Our results show that an area overhead is expected for the asynchronous design as the cost for lower power and more robustness. ©2007 IEEE

    Abstract
A red pigment has been prepared by substituting chromium ions in aluminum ion sites in YAlO3 perovskite structure. In a first step, effect of various mineralizers on YAlO3 formation has been investigated, which resulted in decrease of formation temperature down to 1400 °C. In the next step, a red pigment corresponding to YAl1-yCryO3 (y = 0.05), has been prepared by heating a mixture containing Y2O3, Al2O3 and Cr2O3 at 1500 °C for 6 h. Later, effect of the doped chromium amount on the pigment redness (a*) has been studied. The highest redness has been obtained when y was 0.04(YAl1-yCryO3). Application of the prepared red pigment in low and high temperature glazes, demonstrated its high...

    Abstract
Tetragonal Gd 1-x Pr x BaSrCu 3O 7-δ (GdPr1113) polycrystalline high-temperature superconducting ceramic samples have been synthesized by the standard solid-state reaction process with different calcination and sintering temperatures and characterized by XRD and SEM. The optimum synthesis temperatures for obtaining single phase varied with Pr doping. Higher temperatures were necessary to obtain single phase for x ≥ 0.3. It was found that higher synthesis temperatures improved the electrical characteristics of these materials. The effects of different calcination and sintering temperatures on the anomalous hump in the ρ(T) curves observed at about 80 K is investigated. The percentage of the...

    Abstract
Zinc oxide is used in functional devices, catalysts, pigments, optical materials and many other important applications. ZnO nanopowders can be produced mechanochemically or solochemically. The synthesis of ZnO nanopowder has been carried out via solochemical processing from an aqueous solution of a zinc containing complex in this research. This is the newest economic method for synthesis of ZnO nanopowder. The results obtained from XRD and TEM show that the nanoparticles are single crystals and the mean particle size is 45.3 nm. TEM micrographs of ZnO nanopowder reveal that the particles have elongated particulate shape with a narrow size distribution. Solochemical processing can thus be an...

    Abstract
Stabilised titania sols were prepared using an additive free particulate sol-gel route, via electrostatic stabilisation mechanism, with various processing parameters. Peptisation temperature, 50°C and 70°C, and TiO2 concentration, 0.1, 0.2 and 0.4 molar, were chosen as processing parameters during sol preparation. Results from TiO2 particle size and zeta potential of sols revealed that the smallest titania hydrodynamic diameter (13 nm) and the highest zeta potential (47.7 mV) were obtained for the sol produced at the lower peptisation temperature of 50°C and lower TiO 2 concentration of 0.1 M. On the other hand, between the sols prepared at 70°C, smaller titania particles (20 nm) and higher...

    2006
    Abstract
This article describes the synthesis and characterization of two novel, as well as four previously reported, Schiff base complexes of oxovanadium(IV) and the study of their catalytic reactivity in the aerobic oxidation of olefins. The novel (5-Br-3-NO2salen) and (5-Br-3-NO2meso-stein) ligands were, respectively, synthesized from condensation of 5-bromo-3-nitro-2-hydroxybenzaldehyde with ethylenediamine or meso-1,2-diphenyl-1,2-ethylenediamine. The reaction of these ligands with VO(acac)2 readily resulted in the synthesis of their oxovanadium(IV) complexes [VO(5-Br-3-NO2salen)] and [VO(5-Br-3-NO2meso- stein)], respectively. The novel ligands and complexes were deliberately designed to...
