    Control performance enhancement of gas turbines in the minimum command selection strategy

    Abstract
    Three novel methods, named α, ζ and ϵ, are suggested in this paper to recover the performance loss during switching in the gas turbine control systems. The Minimum Command Selection (MCS) in the gas turbine control systems prompts this performance loss. Any step towards more productivity with less aging factors have a great impact on the gas turbine's lifetime profit and vice versa. Although many hardware upgrades have been studied and applied to accomplish this, in many cases a low-risk manipulation in the software may yield equivalent achievement.     A new method for production of bimetallic rods, utilizing the equal channel angular extrusion (ECAE) process has been introduced before by previous researchers, but no attempt has been made to assess the effect of different temperatures and holding times in order to achieve a diffusional bond between the mating surfaces. In present research copper sheathed aluminum rods have been ECAEed at room temperature and subsequently held at a constant ECAE pressure, at different temperatures and holding times to produce a diffusional bond between the copper sheath and the aluminum core.     A family of conformational rheological models for multi-component miscible polymer blends is developed using a modified form of the Poisson bracket formulation. Two conformation tensors called c1 and c2 are introduced to show the orientation of the first and the second components of a blend, respectively. The mobility tensor and the energy function for each blend component are expressed in terms of these conformation tensors. The interaction effects are also included by energy expressions.     It has been realized that the raft (mat) foundations are capable of bearing very large loads when they are assisted with a pile group. The contribution of both raft and piles to carry the surcharge loads is taken into account, considering the stiffness and strength of involved elements in the system, i.e. piles, raft and surrounding soil.     In this study, hybrid nano adsorbent supported carbon dots was prepared and used for removing Cr(VI) from aqueous solution. Carbon dots were synthesized from sugarcane molasses under microwave irradiation. Hybrid nano adsorbent was prepared by impregnating carbon dot with H3PO4 in a ratio of 2:1 and introducing 0.01 M FeCl3 into the slurry.     Abstract
    This paper considers the Integral Stabilizability (IS) and partial integrity of Linear Time Invariant (LTI) systems with an unstable sub-system. The main contribution of the paper is to show that if the unstable sub-system can be stabilized by means of output feedback, then one obtains an integrity condition which is actually equivalent to that of open-loop stable systems, with two additional assumptions. This means the condition may be evaluated solely on the basis of plant information and does not rely on the knowledge of the values of the controller parameters

To this end, the following models will be used in this study: the Lagrangian Discrete Random Walk (DRW) model to trace the motion of BCPs, the dynamic mesh method to simulate the visitor movement, and the Reynolds Averaged Navier-Stokes (RANS) model to solve the airflow. The hydrodynamic damping coefficients are estimated using a semi-predictive approach and computational fluid dynamic software ANSYS-CFX™ and WAMIT™. A sliding-mode controller (SMC) is then designed for the ROV model. The controller is subsequently robustified against modeling uncertainties, disturbances, and measurement errors.     In this research, the application of equal channel angular extrusion process to produce both the cold-welded and diffusion-bonded Al/Cu bimetallic rods is assessed. The joints shear strength for both of the methods are measured and compared. The microstructure examinations were also carried out using scanning electron microscope equipped with EDX system and x-ray diffraction analysis.     The diseases and disorders of the cornea may lead to blindness, and cornea transplantation has been an effective treatment in this regard. However, lack of cornea throughout the world makes this treatment difficult. Therefore, the first goal of the present study is to make a chitosan/gelatin hyaline film with NHS and EDC crosslinkers for transplanting the epithelial cells of the cornea. In this paper, a new approach of joint segmentation-rigid registration, within the variational framework of the phase field approximation of the Mumford-Shah's functional, is proposed.
