    In recent years, growing interest in underbalanced drilling has resulted in the rapid development of its associated equipment technology, practices, and procedures. Underbalanced drilling is used to avoid lost circulation, formation damage, and decreasing weight on bit. However, the risk of wellbore collapse due to lake of hydrostatic mud pressure is high; therefore, using good geo-mechanical model may avoid wellbore instability problems.     In common catamaran vessels, demihulls are parallel to each other. In this paper, the total resistance of a catamaran vessel with non-parallel demihulls is investigated experimentally and numerically. Experiments are carried out at different Separation Ratios (S.R.), that is the ratio of fore to aft separation of the catamaran demihullsand also in two ratios of length to separation in amidships (L/Sm).     The effects of particle size on the solid flow pattern in gas-solid bubbling fluidized beds were investigated numerically using two-fluid model based on the kinetic theory of granular flow. In this regard, the set of governing equations was solved using finite volume method in two-dimensional Cartesian coordinate system. Glass bead particles with mean sizes of 880. μm, 500. μm, and 351. μm were fluidized by air flow at excess gas velocities of 0.2. m/s and 0.4. m/s.     This research numerically and experimentally investigates a small turbocharger radial flow compressor with a vane-less diffuser and volute. The geometry of the compressor is obtained via component scanning, through which a 3D model is prepared. The flow inside this model is numerically analyzed by using a Navier-Stokes solver with a shear-stress transport turbulence model. The dynamic Smagorinsky is employed to determine the residual stress tensor of the continuous phase.     During the recent decade, high induction diffusers have become more appealing in applications which require relatively high ventilation airflow rates, such as clean rooms. In this research, the effect of geometric parameters on the performance of a specific type of swirling air diffuser is investigated numerically.
