  7. Abstract:
  8. Currently, drilling such as vertical or straight-hole drilling, i.e. usually less than 30 degrees inclined, or deflection drilling is used to drill at conventional and even unconventional reservoirs around the world to increase recovery factor and productivity. A major challenge is cleaning the hole or removing debris which if not done properly can lead to problems such as stuck pipes. In addition, Improper use of drilling fluid in terms of rheological properties in different stages of drilling operations can cause the well to collapse due to the accumulation of particles in the annular space. The transfer speed of particles is very important in cleaning the well. Inefficient cleaning of the hole may lead to problems such as slow drilling speed that increases drilling time and costs. In case of a vertical well, effective well cleaning essentially depends on drilling hydraulics or mud rheology, which includes fluid density, viscosity and gel strength. The parameters mentioned above are significant to prevent formation damage while drilling a vertical well. Also in deviated drilling the amount of rotation of the pipes (RPM) is very important and should be considered. In this project, the analysis of data related to efficient well cleaning operations in the flow loop system showed that the optimized fluid rheology with a new additive called WELL-SWEEP, fluid transfer speed, pipe rotation and well angle are effective control factors in cleaning the wells. In this study, it is shown that improving the rheology of drilling fluid by a new additive greatly improves the results of well cleaning operations; Especially at angles 40 to 50 degrees, which cleaning operation is more difficult. Moreover, the effect of drilling pipe rotation was investigated and the results showed that in inclined wells, compared to vertical wells, the effect of drilling pipe rotation is more significant in cleaning the wells
