Anti-solvent-free Deposition of Perovskite Layers for Fabricating Module Scale Solar Cells

  8. Perovskite solar cells with 25.5% efficiency and fast and cheap manufacturing process are among the most promising technologies in this field to replace silicon cells. Despite the challenges of stability and toxicity to these cells, their manufacturing technology has recently shifted to the development of large-scale manufacturing methods in module dimensions. In the present study, the fabrication of perovskite cells in large dimensions to achieve the perovskite module has been aimed and studied that to achieve this, the method of large-scale spraying and printing using the vacuum system was used to create cell-forming films and, consequently, to make the final cell and module. To characterize the deposited layers and the resulting cells, UV-Vis and PL optical analyzes, OM and FESEM microstructural analyzes, as well as current density measurements in terms of voltage, were used and also, to evaluate the research results, it was compared with perovskite cells obtained by spin coating method as control cells. In this study, large-scale and fully printed cells with a maximum efficiency of 7.4% compared to maximum efficiency of 10.91% for reference cells were obtained and statistical analysis of the data showed that the uniformity and reproducibility of photovoltaic results in the printing method are significantly higher than the conventional method that the achievement of the perovskite module containing uniformly cells with a voltage and output current of 1 V and 100 mA, respectively, also confirmed this claim
