  8. The assessment of fluid transport in porous media is the main subject in oil reservoirs to understand the oil recovery efficiency. The efficiency of Enhanced oil recovery (EOR) processes depends on the surface properties and wetting behavior of oil reservoir rocks which are also affected by the electrokinetic behavior of solid part of the porous rock. Streaming potential measurement is one of the techniques to determine the electrokinetic properties. The streaming potential measurements using electrodes have recently been introduced in oil field applications and there are still significant uncertainties during the measurements and interpretation of streaming potential results. The Primarily purpose of this work is to introduce, design and assemble a novel setup to accurately measure the streaming potential of porous media with low scattering and evaluate voltage measurements based on the parried stabilization and pressure ramping methods. To study the effect of salinity on zeta potential, streaming potential coupling coefficient of 36 samples of sand packed models are measured in salinity from 0.5 mM to 25 mM NaCl solutions. To determine the point of zero charge (PZC) and investigate the effect of pH on streaming potential, a set of experiments were performed on sandstone particles with brine salinity of 1 mM and in pH range between 1.55 to 10.51. Moreover, the effect of transitional brine salinity in brine flooding process is investigated and zeta potential variation is detected in the mentioned process. Then, the measured streaming potential coupling coefficients, zeta potential and PZC were compared with the published experimental results. Besides the good agreement that was achieved with the published experimental results, much lower scattering in data points was accomplished with respect to the salinity of the injecting water. Using the experimental results found in this work, an accurate empirical expression was proposed for the measured coupling coefficients which predict the streaming potential coupling coefficients and zeta potential in the salinity range 0.1 mM to 5.5 M
