  7. Abstract:
  8. Impedance measurement is one of the most efficient electrochemical methods to investigate the mechanism and kinetics of electrode reactions. This method can detect the steps of successive or parallel electron and mass transfer chemical reactions based on measuring the response time constant. The method of showing results, commonly known as Nyquist diagram, which is based on drawing real and imaginary components of the impedance, with respect to each other in different measurement frequencies, is very useful for determining the mechanism of electrode reactions and the kinetic measurements. The main objective of this thesis is totheoretically determine the impedance response of six electrochemical systems. Electrochemical systems which are studied, electrode reactions with complex processes such as mass transfer in solution, the formation of the solid phase, mass transfer in solution and in the solid phase, phase change and mass transfer at the non-liquid mixing interface and might also have a variety of mechanisms such as EE , ECE and CEC . The general approach of this thesis is based on the knowledge of the a proposed mechanisms and the experimental kinetic data reported in relation to each of the electrochemical systems studied in various scientific journals, 1- impedance response of theElectrochemical system is theoretically determined. 2- Using the theoretical results of the obtained impedance,an appropriate equivalent circuit is proposed to explain the behavior of the system impedance and the values of passive elements in various potentials are determined. 3- Theoretical Nyquist diagrams and Bode-Phase plots for electrochemical systems are drawn and the comparison between theoretical results and the experimental results obtained in various scientific journals is presented and finally, the description and interpretation of the results are discussed
