Wind Turbine Transformer Design Improvement to Resolve Its Transient Concerns

, Ph.D. Dissertation Sharif University of Technology Elhaminia, Pedram (Author) ; Vakilian, Mehdi (Supervisor)
    Abstract
One of the special regimes of a wind turbine transformer operation is its repetitive connection and disconnection from the wind turbine (or the grid) via a short length of cable. Energizing the transformer will stress the transformer in two ways: the passage of inrush currents, and the initiation of possible high frequency resonances in the windings. In this thesis, first the 3D-wound core transformer design is investigated as a mean for reduction of the transformer inrush currents drawn from the grid. It is shown that this desirable performance is due to H-balance equation in this type of core and therefore the transformers of this type preserve a suitable response under energization to be...

    Abstract
Chronic, non-healing wounds place a significant burden on patients and healthcare systems, resulting in impaired mobility, limb amputation, or even death. Chronic wounds result from a disruption in the highly orchestrated cascade of events involved in wound closure. Significant advances in our understanding of the pathophysiology of chronic wounds have resulted in the development of drugs designed to target different aspects of the impaired processes. However, the hostility of the wound environment rich in degradative enzymes and its elevated pH, combined with differences in the time scales of different physiological processes involved in tissue regeneration require the use of effective drug...
