    Abstract
This work studies the influence of surface modification of silica nanoparticles by mercaptopropyl trimethoxysilane on silica weight percent in Ni coating during electrodeposition. Results showed SiO2(CH2)3SH particles were embedded in the Ni coating up to 11%. Also, modified Guglielmi’s model and mechanicsm of nucleation of Ni-SiO2(CH2)3SH composite were studied. © 2017 The Electrochemical Society. All rights reserved

Nonlinear responses of unbalanced flexible rotating shaft passing through critical speeds

    Abstract
This work studies the nonlinear oscillations of an elastic rotating shaft with acceleration to pass through the critical speeds. A mathematical model incorporating the Von-Karman higher-order deformations in bending is developed and analyzed to investigate the nonlinear dynamics of rotors. A flexible shaft on flexible bearings with springs and dampers is considered as rotor system for the present work. The shaft is modeled as a beam with a circular cross-section and the Euler Bernoulli beam theory is applied. The kinetic and strain energies of the rotor system are derived and Lagrange method is then applied to obtain the coupled nonlinear differential equations of motion for 6° of freedom....

Diffusion-controlled growth model for electrodeposited cobalt nanowires in highly ordered aluminum oxide membrane

    , Article ECS Transactions, 25 April 2010 through 30 April 2010, Vancouver, BC ; Volume 28, Issue 17 , 2010 , Pages 13-25 ; 19385862 (ISSN) ; 9781607681939 (ISBN) Ghahremaninezhad, A ; Dolati, A ; Sharif University of Technology

    Abstract
This work studies the electrochemical growth behavior of cobalt nanowires in highly ordered aluminum oxide membrane. Considering the electrodeposition of metallic nanowires, cation concentration profile in each nano pore was calculated. With assumption of linear diffusion zone on the growing surface of nanowires, a modified Cottrell equation was evaluated. To confirm the model, the Co nanowires were electrodeposited into porous anodic aluminum oxide (AAO) templates and the mechanism of deposition was studied. Comparing the results of model and the experiments has proved the accuracy of the model. Also, it was observed that the growth of the Co nanowires was controlled mainly by diffusion...

New mathematical model to analysis fluid sloshing in 3D tanks with slotted middle baffle

    Abstract
This work studies the natural frequencies and modes of liquid sloshing in a rectangular 3D tank with the slotted baffles in middle. A new vibrational model incorporating the pressure difference between the two sides of the baffle, using a transmission function in Laplace space is presented. To this end, a part of the baffle that includes the wall and the slot is modeled in Fluent software, to express this pressure difference as a function of the fluid velocity passing through the baffle. Then, using the boundary element method, and boundary conditions, the equations of the fluid domain are developed. In this research, the rigid baffle is surrounded by a three-dimensional irrotational...
