    In this work, high-performance thin-layer chromatography (HPTLC) coupled with multivariate image analysis (MIA) is proposed as a fast and reliable tool for authentication and adulteration detection of Iranian saffron samples based on their HPTLC fingerprints. At first, the secondary metabolites of saffron were extracted using ultrasonic-assisted solvent extraction (UASE) which was optimized using central composite design (CCD). Next, the RGB coordinates of HPTLC images were used for estimation of saffron origin based on principal component analysis (PCA).     Abstract
    Azo dyes are common dye groups widely used in different industries. Industrial effluents which contain these dyes pervade water resources and have various known and unknown physiological effects on living organisms. In this study, methyl red (MR) was proposed as a model azo dye to examine the capability of Saccharomyces cerevisiae ATCC 9763 for cleavage of the azo bond leading to decolourization. Plate assay revealed the capability of Klebsiella spp. for removal of Carmoisine via degradation.     Abstract
    In this study, optimized preparation, quality control, cell assessments and biostribution of 188Re-HYNIC-PSMA in normal rats and tumor bearing mice are studied. Optimized conditions for radiolabeling were evaluated and radiochemical purity (> 99%) was investigated using ITLC and HPLC methods. 188Re-HYNIC-PSMA was stable both in PBS (4 °C) and in human serum (37 °C) even after 48 h. The results showed the complex was cleared from the blood very fast via urinary track.     In this study, we have investigated the potential of a native bacterial strain isolated from an Iranian oil field for the production of biosurfactant. The bacterium was identified to be Bacillus mycoides by biochemical tests and 16S ribotyping. The biosurfactant, which was produced by this bacterium, was able to reduce the surface tension of media to 34. mN/m.     Introduction: This report describes the synthesis of 2-Amino-2-deoxy(S- benzoylthioacetyl)-D-glucose (S-Bz-TA-DG), radiolabeled with [ 99mTc(CO)3(OH2)3]+ complex with a procedure including deprotection of the benzoyl group, characterization by HPLC using a C18 reverse phase column and preliminary biodistribution study in normal mice. Methods: [99mTc(CO) 3(H2O)3]+ complex was used to label TA-DG with 99mTc. This complex was prepared using up to 46 mCi of Na99mTcO4 in 1mL saline. The radiochemical purity (>95%) was determined by TLC in normal saline solution as the mobile phase.     In this study, superparamagnetic iron oxide nanoparticles (SPION) embedded by folic acid (SPION-folate) were prepared by a modified co-precipitation method. The structure, size, morphology, magnetic property and relaxivity of the SPION-folate were characterized systematically by means of XRD, VSM, HRSEM and TEM and the interaction between folate and iron oxide (Fe3O 4) was characterized by FT-IR.     Abstract
    We previously reported that MR01, an indigenous strain of Pseudomonas aeruginosa, was able to produce a rhamnolipid-type biosurfactant. Here, we attempted to define the structural properties of this natural product. The analysis of the extracted biosurfactant by thin-layer chromatography (TLC) revealed the presence of two compounds corresponding to those of authentic mono- and di-rhamnolipid. The identity of two structurally distinguished rhamnolipids was confirmed by 1H and 13C nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy.
