    Abstract
Functionally-graded NiO-8. mol % YSZ composite films were prepared by a controlled voltage-decay electophoretic deposition (EPD) process. The films consisted of three layers with varying NiO concentrations and porosities. Effects of different parameters including the type of the organic media, solid concentration, NiO:YSZ ratio, and iodine on the stability of EPD suspensions and deposition kinetics were studied. A stable NiO-YSZ suspension was attained in isopropanol with NiO-YSZ ratio of 60:40 and iodine concentration of 0.5. mM. The composite film contained varying NiO concentration from 46. wt.% near the substrate to 32. wt.% close to the electrolyte with 42. wt% NiO in the intermediate...

Effect of collision on self-assembly of nanoparticles in zirconia microparticle suspension

    Abstract
Nanoparticle halo mechanism is a stabilization method for microparticle suspensions. This study investigates suspension pH and nanoparticles–microparticles collision effects on the stabilization of an aqueous binary suspension. The long-term turbidity measurements show that for the nanosilica suspension stability is directly correlated with pH values; however, in the cases of zirconia and binary suspensions, it is not a monotonic function of pH. It is shown that for binary suspension, the halo mechanism is the primary method affecting the stability of the suspension. The suspension is best-stabilized at pH = 5 that is associated with high halo mechanism efficiency, while increased repulsive...

    Abstract
In recent years, the importance of capturing CO2 has increased due to the necessity of minimizing climate change and the detrimental effects of CO2 emissions from industrial processes. CO2 absorption, as one of the most mature carbon capture technologies, has been improved by introducing nanosized particles into liquid absorbents. Nanofluids have been the subject of interest in many studies recently due to their tremendous impact on absorption. This review comprehensively examines the CO2 absorption behavior for nanofluids through the investigation of different absorption systems. Potential mechanisms for improving the absorption/regeneration performance of nanoabsorbents as well as the...
