    Abstract
    Available transfer capability (ATC) provides important information for power marketers and planning sectors in restructured power systems. The stochastic nature of power system behaviour, however, made ATC determination a difficult and complicated task. A stochastic framework has been established for ATC calculation with implication of uncertainties in transmission failures, hourly peak loads and system cascading collapse.     Abstract
    This Paper presents a model for optimal locating and sizing of Distributed Generation (DG) for congestion management in deregulated electricity market. For reducing the solution space a priority list of candidate buses is formed and then optimal placement and sizing of DG in potential buses is discussed. In order to incorporate stochastic nature of power system in this study, Monte-Carlo method is used to simulate the effect of uncertainty of loads and system on the optimal location and size of the DGs in the network. The proposed method is applied to IEEE Reliability Test System (RTS). The impacts of load uncertainty on optimum DG size and location are studied

    In diffusive molecular communication (DMC), the transmitter has to be able to control the release of signaling molecules for modulation of the information bits. In natural cells, pumping ions is an important control mechanism for releasing molecules which is carried out by ion pumps embedded in the membrane. The activity of the ion pumps is controlled by a driving parameter. In particular, light driven pumps are controlled by light intensity and enable a high degree of spatial and temporal control for modulation functionality.     Abstract
    This paper investigates the problem of assembly line balancing problem, in which the products in the production line may undergo to be reworked on the current task. Since the real manufacturing systems deal with the stochastic nature of the items in production lines, this paper considers the simple assembly line balancing problem type 2 (SALBP-II) under the conditions of stochastic processing time of tasks and the element of reworking system.     Abstract
    This paper presents an improved stochastic simulation method for calculating current dependent energy losses in distribution networks. The method is based on power load curves and integrates the stochastic nature of the load curves with power and voltage covariance matrices. The method reduces calculation effort using the factor analysis of covariance matrices and provides a few quantities needed to calculate energy losses. The method has no limitation for network configuration and gives accurate results several times faster than other existing methods. The major objective of the paper is to examine both features of accuracy and efficiency of the proposed SMIP model of RCUC. The spinning reserve of generating units is considered as the only available reserve provision resource; however, the proposed formulation can be readily extended to comprise the other kind of reserve facilities.     Packet-level observations show that the TCP/RED congestion control systems exhibit complex non-periodic oscillations which vary with the network/RED parameter variations. In this paper, it is investigated whether such complex behaviors are due to nonlinear deterministic chaotic dynamics or do they originate from nonlinear stochastic dynamics.     A deterministic energy supply model with bottom-up structure has limited capability in handling the uncertainties. To enhance the applicability of such a model in an uncertain environment two main issues have been investigated in the present paper.
