    Abstract
In this study; a Sugeno type ANFI model which describes the relationship between the bio surfactant concentration as a model output and the critical medium components as its inputs has been constructed. The critical medium components are glucose, urea,SrCl2 and MgSo4 .The experimental data for training and testing capability of the model obtained by a statistical experimental design which have been captured from literatures. Six generalized bell shaped membership function have been selected for each of input variables and based on the training data ANFI model has been trained using the hybrid learning algorithm. The yielded biosurfactant concentration values from the model prediction shows...

Two-stage fungal leaching of vanadium from uranium ore residue of the leaching stage using statistical experimental design

    Abstract
In this investigation, bioleaching of vanadium from uranium ore residue of the leaching stage was studied by Aspergillus niger in a two-step process at 30 °C and 150 rpm. The first step was initiated by growth of fungi in the absence of mine waste. Using response surface methodology, three factors were surveyed for fungal growth: initial pH, sucrose concentration and spore population. Also concentrations of oxalic, citric, and gluconic acids were measured as response in this step. During 30 days, maximum productions of these acids were 3265, 11578, and 7988 mg/l, respectively. Initial pH and sucrose concentration were significant factors for oxalic and citric acid production; however, for...

Use of response surface methodology for evaluation of effective parameters in codeposition of Cu-Sn alloys using non-cyanide electroplating solution

    Abstract
A pyrophosphate based solution, as an acidic electrolyte, was developed for bronze electroplating. By using a statistical experimental design, response surface method, the effects of five factors [copper concentration (Cu), tin concentration (Sn), pyrophosphate concentration (P), current density j and pH] on the composition of the electroplated alloy as well as the process efficiency were evaluated. Statistical analysis indicated that all the parameters were significant and a second order polynomial model was successfully fitted to the data for both the alloy composition and the process efficiency. Based on the results obtained, a solution of Cu(II)8.04 g L -1, Sn(II)=26.36 g L -1, P=113.22...

Magnetic domain regime-controlled synthesis of nickel nano-particles by applying statistical experimental design in modified polyol process

    , Article Materials Chemistry and Physics ; Volume 168 , 2015 , Pages 117-121 ; 02540584 (ISSN) Delavari, H ; Madaah Hosseini, H. R ; Wolff, M ; Sharif University of Technology

    Abstract
In this work, central composite design (CCD) as a statistical experimental design method is performed to prepare nickel nano-particle of different magnetic domain regimes by the modified polyol process. It is shown that not only the concentration of the different chemicals but also the injection rate is determining for the morphology and magnetic properties. The average diameter of the synthesized nickel NPs is smaller than the critical single domain size and thus the single domain or pseudo-single domain nickel nano-particles can be prepared based on Day's plot

Optimization of parameters for synthesis of mfi nanoparticles by taguchi robust design

    Abstract
MFI-type zeolite was successfully synthesized by hydrothermal crystallization of clear synthesis mixtures. A statistical experimental design method (the Taguchi method with an L8 orthogonal array) was implemented to optimize the experimental conditions for the preparation of MFI nanocrystals with respect to particle size and distribution as the desirable properties. In the Taguchi experimental design, crystallization temperature, water content, template/silica molar ratio, aluminum content, as well as the presence of alkaline cations were chosen as significant parameters affecting the properties. It was shown that water and aluminum content of the synthesis solution were the most important...
