Design of a Pyroshock Simulator with Ability of Generating Specified SRS

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Bahrami, Hessam (Author) ; Saadat Foumani, Mahmoud (Supervisor)
    Abstract
Pyroshock Test is one of important environment tests in satellite design process.pyroshock or pyrotechnic shock is one of loads that exerted on spacecraft and it's subsystems during launch process. pyroshock can cause failure in some subsystems like sensitive electronic parts, solar cells and so on. For this reason it's necessary to make sure about strength of component under pyroshock which can be done by pyroshock simulator. The purpose of this research is to design a pyroshock simulator that can simulate a pyroshock with given SRS (Shock Response Spectrum) for satellite components.Requirements and constraints for design have been defined such as test item dimensions, weight range and also...

Detail Design of a Pyroshock Simulator with Ability of Generating Specified SRS

    Abstract
Pyrotechnic devices are widely used by the aerospace and defense industries and consist of a broad family ofsophisticated devices using self-contained energy sourcessuch as explosives and/or pyrotechnic compositions.Pyrotechnic shock, or pyroshock, is the transient oscillatoryresponse of a structure to loading (high frequency, highmagnitude stress waves) induced by the detonation ofpyrotechnic devices incorporated into or attached to thestructure.Pyroshock Test is one of importantenvironmental tests in satellite design process. Pyroshock is one of loads that exerted on spacecraft and it's subsystems during launch process. Pyroshock can cause failure in some subsystems like sensitive...

3-D electrical model of a neuroprosthesis stimulator based on the concept of stimulus router system

    Abstract
Lost sensory or motor functions can be restored using electrical neural prostheses (NP), which include surface NPs, implanted or subcutaneous NPs and the more recent Stimulus Router System (SRS). The latter type of NP outperforms the other types in its selective excitation and least invasiveness. In each case, the achieved performance depends on a multitude of design factors among which the electrical excitation waveform shape, frequency, duration of pulses, configuration of electrodes, number of intervals, thermal conditions and electrode material. To investigate the effects of these parameters on the distribution of electric current inside biological tissues, numerical modeling can be...

Cyclic performance assessment of damaged unreinforced masonry walls repaired with steel mesh reinforced shotcrete

    Abstract
Unreinforced masonry (URM) buildings are rather popular around the globe due to low construction costs, even though they can be prone to substantial damage caused by even moderate earthquakes. Numerous URM buildings that have experienced damages from past earthquakes require to be upgraded or at least return to their undamaged state in order to be able to withstand future earthquakes. In many cases, reconstruction is not the best choice because of financial and time restrictions. As such, repair/retrofit is the best choice, assuring the post-earthquake serviceability. Furthermore, seismic repair/retrofit can be a cost-efficient method to avoid reconstruction complexities and expenses. In...
