    Abstract
The Finite Element Methods (FEM) are important numerical techniques for analysis of physical problems. Quick prediction of dynamic and static response of structures is one of the interests of both industry and scientists. One of the key elements to achieve this goal is 3D super element compatible with regular geometrical configuration by which a series of structures can be analyzed with less time and higher accuracy. In this paper, a newly designed spherical super element is presented. In this super element, the user can enjoy as many numbers of nodes as he wishes and consequently reaches thedesired accuracy and consuming computational time. It can also be used to analyze structures from...

One of the applications is applying these materials in spherical structures and open and closed rings. In mechanical equipment spherical structures and rings are used in various ways. The spherical structures of small parts, such as bearings to large structures such as spherical tanks are used. Due to the rapid growth of technology in the construction of structures of functionally graded materials, analysis of these structures in different...

Thermo-elastic Development of Cylindrical and Spherical Superelements and Introduce a New Gigh Speed Angular Contact Bearing Superelement Model

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Shamloofard, Mansoor (Author) ; Movahhedy, Mohammad Reza (Supervisor)
    Abstract
Angular contact bearings are utilized in many industrial types of machinery, including machine tools’ spindle. Spindle is one of the most important parts of a machine tool, which has a substantial impact on dynamic properties and stability of machining processes. Spindles’ motion takes place under guidance of bearings, which are mainly angular contact type. Since bearings’ loading under forces that are resulted from angular velocity and temperature increment are intensified, it is required to control the applied forces in operating situation, in order to predict the hardness, accuracy, efficiency, and life time of spindle. Thus, determining the dynamic performance of machine tool’s spindle,...

Vibrational and Dynamical Analysis of Hollow spheres Using Super Element

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Faghani, Hamid (Author) ; Ahmadiyan, Mohammad Taghi (Supervisor) ; Assempour, Ahmad (Supervisor)
    Abstract
In recent years, functionally graded materials (FGMs) has widely used in many industrial products. FGMs are advanced non-homogeneous materials with mechanical and physical properties that vary continuously as a function of position within the materials. The main goal of this project is to study the static behavior and vibrational analysis of the FGMs spherical structures. In this project, the finite element method is used to do static and dynamic analysis of FGM hollow spheres. A new spherical super element has been designed to enhance modeling of hollow spheres and ease the solution of the finite element model. The deformations due to various static loadings are obtained. The natural...

Microinjection is significantly developed in the field of drug discovery and genetics so predicting the behavior of cell in microinjection is remarkably important because a tiny excessive manipulation force can destroy the tissue of the biological cell. There are a few analytical methods available to simulate the cell injection, hence the numerical methods such as FEM are suitable to be used to model the microinjection.
