    Inventory Routing Problem with Consideration of Reverse Logistics and Transshipment

    Abstract
    In this thesis, two Inventory-Routing Problem models, under vendor managed inventory policy are presented. In the first proposed model, despite the previous researches, transshipments between retailers are permitted and the problem is modeled by the assumption of reverse flow in the distribution network. Based on the first model, we also formulate a new model for the Pallet managing problem. Since the inventory routing problem is known as NP-Hard, genetic and variable neighborhood search algorithm has been applied to determine an acceptable upper bound for the first model in different instances.     Abstract
    In primary sedimentation tanks, short-circuiting enlargement of dead zones and high flow mixing problems are caused by circulation regions (dead zones), which can reduce the optimal sedimentation of particles. For proper design of such tanks, the formation of recirculation zones should be avoided. The provision of a baffle as a geometrical modification of a tank may influence the flow field for better sedimentation.     Abstract
    In this paper, three-dimensional turbulent flow field around a complex bridge pier placed on a rough fixed bed is experimentally investigated. The complex pier foundation consists of a column, a pile cap, and a 2×4 pile group. All of the elements are exposed to the approaching flow. An acoustic-Doppler velocimeter was used to measure instantaneously the three components of the velocities at different horizontal and vertical planes.
