    Abstract
Implementation of green management in sports complexes can ensure the continuous arrangement and assessment of activities from an environmental perspective and will end up with the control and prevention of contaminants. Enghelab Sports Complex in Iran was selected for this study due to its size and long-term activities. The establishment of Enghelab Sports Complex is among important national projects whose framework was founded in the late 1950s. Due to the comprehensive plan of the aforesaid sports complex, numerous centers and departments were established in this site in order to materialize its envisioned sports, recreational and cultural objectives. Green management pursues greater...

Sustainability Evaluation of Infrastructure Projects Case Study: Tourism and Recreation Seaport

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Ahmadzade Razkenari, Mohammad (Author) ; Mortaheb, Mohamad Mehdi (Supervisor)
    Abstract
Infrastructure projects have an important role in the economic growth and development of countries. Sustainability approach takes into account environmental and social aspects of a project besides its economical development. In order to achieve sustainable development, executing a plan including different subsystems and influential aspects of sustainability is required. There is an increasing need for sustainability evaluation systems for infrastructure projects. This research emphasizes on sustainability evaluation of seaport infrastructure projects in Iran.
In this research, key factors for sustainability assessment in tourism and recreation seaport infrastructure projects were...

Evaluation of the Hydrodynamic Performance of A Special Submarine Rescue System

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Mohammadpour, Mojtaba (Author) ; Abbaspour, Madjid (Supervisor)
    Abstract
The increasing growth of marine tourism has strengthened the activities related to this industry. One of the most profitable of these activities is recreational submarines. A traction recreational submarine is an idea in this field, in order to reduce costs, the propulsion force is removed and the submarine is towed by the mother ship. The most important reason for using the traction system and removing the independent drive is to prevent vibration and noise caused by the rotation of the propeller to prevent the escape of aquatic animals and to create a beautiful view from under the sea to watch underwater wonders. Searching for safety and saving people's lives in emergency situations is an...

Design and Construction of Motorized Surfboard

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Mozaffari, Yousef (Author) ; Khorasanchi, Mahdi (Supervisor)
    Abstract
Jetsurf is a recreation vessel at sea. It is a surfboard that is equipped with a motor propulsion system and provides surfing, which is an exciting and popular sport, in calm seas, lakes, dams, rivers and natural and artificial canals. This project is divided into four steps. In the first step, the appropriate dimensions for the design of this device are specified. In the second step, to calculate the resistance of jetsurf, at first a model with similar dimensions including experimental results in Star CCM+ software was validated by computational fluid dynamics method and Overset dynamic mesh technique and then jetsurf resistance with dimensions of 1.8x0.6x0.225 meters was calculated. In the...

Design and Hydrodynamic Modeling and Control of a Towed Underwater Vehicle and Its Statical and Dynamical Stability

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Khanmoradi, Nima (Author) ; Abbaspour Tehrni Fard, Madjid (Supervisor) ; Saayyadi, Hassan (Supervisor)
    Abstract
Today, as an effective tool for marine applications, towed submarines play an im-portant role in various sectors of the marine industry, including defense, recreation, ocean exploration, etc. The high cost of existing thrust systems, as well as the signifi-cant vibrations in them, run counter to the goal of designing this small, low-cost sub-marine. Therefore, the decision was made to design this vessel with a tensile thrust system. In this project, an attempt is made to introduce and design the structure of the body and the carrying capacity of the passenger by a recreational submarine with the ability to move 10 people as passengers And while introducing the structure of the body shape and...

Accuracy of Kinect's skeleton tracking for upper body rehabilitation applications

    , Article Disability and Rehabilitation: Assistive Technology ; Vol. 9, issue. 4 , 2014 , pp. 344-352 ; ISSN: 17483107 Mobini, A ; Behzadipour, S ; Saadat Foumani, M ; Sharif University of Technology
    Abstract
Games and their use in rehabilitation have formed a new and rapidly growing area of research. A critical hardware component of rehabilitation programs is the input device that measures the patients' movements. After Microsoft released Kinect, extensive research has been initiated on its applications as an input device for rehabilitation. However, since most of the works in this area rely on a qualitative determination of the joints' movements rather than an accurate quantitative one, detailed analysis of patients' movements is hindered. The aim of this article is to determine the accuracy of the Kinect's joint tracking. To fulfill this task, a model of upper body was fabricated. The...

Binary state reliability computation for a complex system based on extended bernoulli trials: multiple autonomous robots

    , Article Quality and Reliability Engineering International ; Volume 33, Issue 8 , 2017 , Pages 1709-1718 ; 07488017 (ISSN) Fazlollahtabar, H ; Akhavan Niaki, S. T ; Sharif University of Technology
    Abstract
Availability of a system is a crucial factor for planning and optimization. The concept is more challenging for modern systems such as robots and autonomous systems consisting of a complex configuration of components. In this paper, a reliability evaluation framework is developed for a system of binary state autonomous robots in an automated manufacturing environment. In this framework, the concepts in functional block diagram, table of truth, and sum of state are employed simultaneously to develop a binary state reliability model. Due to inefficacy of the method for larger number of components involved in complex systems, an extension of the Bernoulli trials is proposed. In an...

Fuzzy trip distribution models for discretionary trips

    , Article 11th International IEEE Conference on Intelligent Transportation Systems, ITSC 2008, Beijing, 10 December 2008 through 12 December 2008 ; December , 2008 , Pages 557-562 Shafahi, Y ; Nourbakhsh, S. M ; Seyedabrishami, S ; Sharif University of Technology

    Abstract
Trip distribution is considered as the second step in urban transportation planning. The important factors which affect trip distribution are the characteristics of origins and destinations and travel impedance between O/D. Trip distribution traditionally models with the deterministic variables although it seems affective variables in trip distribution molding are based on human perceptions. Since perceptions of people vary from one person to another, thus variables are imprecise and vague. Fuzzy approaches are proper tools of modeling non-deterministic variables. In this paper we present fuzzy estimation models of trip distribution for discretionary trip purposes including: shopping,...
