    Abstract
    In this paper, we present a decentralized algorithm to find minimum cost quality of service (QoS) flow subgraphs in network coded multicast schemes. The main objective is to find minimum cost subgraphs that also satisfy user-specified QoS constraints, specifically with respect to rate and delay demands. We consider networks with multiple multicast sessions. Although earlier network coding algorithms in this area have demonstrated performance improvements in terms of QoS parameters, the proposed QoS network coding approach provides a framework that guarantees QoS constraints are actually met over the network.     In this paper, we consider the problem of optimum selection of quality-of-service (QoS) classes in underworking between the networks in a next-generation-network (NGN) environment. After introducing the delay-cost and loss-cost characteristics, we discuss the time-invariant (TI) and time-variant (TV) scenarios. For the TI case, we show that under nearly lossless transmission condition, each network can make its own optimization regardless of other networks.     In Mixed-Criticality (MC) systems, multiple functions with different levels of criticality are integrated into a common platform in order to meet the intended space, cost, and timing requirements in all criticality levels. To guarantee the correct, and on-time execution of higher criticality tasks in emergency modes, various design-time scheduling policies have been recently presented. These techniques are mostly pessimistic, as the occurrence of worst-case scenario at run-time is a rare event.     In this paper, we present a novel multirate, differentiated quality of service (QoS) optical CDMA (OCDMA) system using multilevel signaling technique. The emphasis is on OCDMA systems employing multi-length variable-weight optical orthogonal codes (MLVW-OOC) as signature sequence. We begin by presenting a two-class variable-weight OCDMA system in which all users have the same energy level in one bit duration. In Networks-on-Chip (NoC) QoS guarantees usually translate into bandwidth and latency constraints for the traffic flows and require hardware support in the NoC fabric and its interfaces. In this article we present a novel NoC synthesis framework to automatically build networks that meet hard latency constraints of end-to-end traffic streams without requiring specialized hardware for the network components.     In this paper, we analyze and obtain performance of a multilevel Optical Code Division Multiple Access (OCDMA) system with Variable-Weight Optical Orthogonal Codes (VW-OOCs) under the same-bit-energy assumption. The exact error-probability of this system is derived for the Generalized VW-OOCs (codes with arbitrary cross-correlation) which is necessary for the optimum design of multilevel OCDMA systems.
