    In this paper, an integrated software environment is demonstrated for computational simulation of powder forming processes. The powder compaction software, PCS_SUT, is designed in both popularity and functionality with the development of user-friendly pre- and post-processing software. Pre-processing software is used to create the model, generate an appropriate finite element grid, apply the appropriate boundary conditions, and view the total model. Post-processing provides visualization of the computed results.     In this paper, we study the sum mean square error (SMSE) performance of all users by applying joint MIMO filter-and-forward relay and post-processing at base stations (BSs) for uplink coordinated multi-point (CoMP) reception in case of users-to-relay and relay-to-BSs frequency-selective fading channels. In order to combat the interference due to frequency-selectivity of channels, MIMO relay passes its received signals through a finite impulse response (FIR) filter.     This paper presents a new run-based algorithm for labeling connected components in a binary image. The algorithm removes assumption on all border pixels of image are background. Also it does not use merging operation for resolving label equivalences among provisional labels (sets), but it uses post processing stage.     Abstract
    This paper presents a new efficient and accurate method to overcome the double-counting problem of ray tracing in indoor environments. The conventional method of modeling the transmitter using an icosahedron inscribed in the unit sphere is used. The separation angle distribution of the source rays over the faces of the icosahedron is calculated prior to the start of the tracing procedure. These angles are used to cancel the double-counting problem in the post processing stage.     Abstract
    In this thesis we describe Keyword Spotting in continuous speech based on hidden Markov modeling. The aim of keyword spotting is to detect the specified keywords and get rid of other speech streams by a network of keyword models and a garbage model. Phoneme recognition is the basis of this work and we obtain appropriate feature vector and model for phonemes. Two main parts of keyword spotting are the keyword models and the filler model connected together by a network grammar. The Viterbi algorithm can recognize keywords and non-keywords using the network grammar.     Abstract
    One of the drawbacks to post-process and to interpret ultrasound medical images is speckle noise. In this paper we used fourth-order partial differential equation method proposed by Lysaker et al. for speckle reduction of ultrasound images. We used two groups of images first was the synthesized noisy image and second is real ultrasonic images. A comparison between our results and to other methods showed that PDE has better SNR and PSNR in most levels of speckle

    In this paper, the problem of single microphone source separation via Nonnegative Matrix Factorization (NMF) by exploiting video information is addressed. Respective audio and video modalities coming from a single human speech usually have similar time changes. It means that changes in one of them usually corresponds to changes in the other one. So it is expected that activation coefficient matrices of their NMF decomposition are similar. Based on this similarity, in this paper the activation coefficient matrix of the video modality is used as an initialization for audio source separation via NMF.     In this paper, we use delay-amplify-and-forward relays in the uplink direction of a coordinated multi-point network based on orthogonal frequency division multiplexing. The key novelty is that we assume delay from users to different base stations (BSs), in general, may exceed cyclic prefix (CP) length as might be the case in large cells and cannot be completely compensated by traditional timing advance strategies.     A combined texture- and color-based skin detection is proposed in this paper. Nonsubsampled contourlet transform is used to represent texture of the whole image. Local neighbor contourlet coefficients of a pixel are used as feature vectors to classify each pixel. Dimensionality reduction is addressed through principal component analysis (PCA) to remedy the curse of dimensionality in the training phase. Before texture classification, the pixel is tested to determine whether it is skin-colored. Therefore, the classifier is learned to discriminate skin and non-skin texture for skin colored regions.
