    Abstract
The present work describes the application of nano CoCuFe2O4 toward the coupling reaction of acyl chlorides with terminal alkynes. By this catalytic system, ynone derivatives were formed in high yields via a palladium-free strategy. This protocol avoids the use of phosphine ligands as well as toxic CO sources. Recovery of catalyst by employing an external magnetic field and its reuse up to 9 consecutive trials confirm the robustness of this catalytic system. © 2017 Elsevier B.V

    Abstract
A mixture of the platinum(0) complex [Pt(PtBu3)2] and tetrakis(acetonitrile)copper(i) hexafluorophosphate in acetone activated a water molecule and gave the hydride platinum(ii) complex [PtH(CH3CN)(PtBu3)2]PF6, 1, and the hydroxide Cu(i) species. The crystal structure of complex 1 was determined by X-ray crystallography, indicating a distorted square planar geometry around the platinum center. Although three possible mechanisms are proposed for this transformation, monitoring of the reaction using NMR spectroscopy at low temperature reveals that a cooperative pathway involving formation of a Pt0-CuI dative bond complex is the most probable pathway. The hydride platinum complex 1 is stable in...

    Abstract
Aryl halides and especially inactive aryl chlorides were coupled to benzenoid aromatic rings in a Suzuki–Miyaura coupling reaction in the absence of organic solvents and toxic phosphine ligands. The reaction was catalysed by a recoverable magnetic nanocatalyst, Pd@Fe3O4, in aqueous media. This method is green, and the catalyst is easily removed from the reaction media using an external magnetic field and can be re-used at least 10 times without any considerable loss in its activity. The catalyst was characterized using scanning and transmission electron microscopies, thermogravimetric analysis, inductively coupled plasma spectroscopy, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, CHN analysis,...

    Abstract
Preparing a selective, efficient, and low-cost solar absorber is one of the main challenges in solar to thermal energy conversion. In this paper, black electroless Ni–P (ENi-P) solar absorber has been fabricated, and the effect of nanoporous TiO2 antireflection layer (ARL) on its optical and corrosion properties has been investigated. The optimum black coating was obtained by blackening in 9 M nitric acid solution at 50 °C for 40 s, in which a solar absorptance of 99.3% was achieved. Deposition of TiO2 ARL increased the solar absorptance of coating to 99.7% and addition of 0.8 g Pluronic F127 (F127) as pore former, further increased this value to 99.9% and solar-to-heat efficiency of the...

    Abstract
Symmetrical and unsymmetrical biscyclometalated platinum(II) complexes [Pt(ptpy)2], 1, and [Pt(ptpy)(bppy)], 2, in which ptpy = deprotonated 2-(p-tolyl)pyridine and bppy = deprotonated 2-(3-bromophenyl)pyridine, have been prepared from the reaction between tris(pentafluorophenyl)borane, B(C6F5)3 and 1 equiv of monocyclometalated complexes [PtMe(ptpy)(ptpyH)], B, and [PtMe(ptpy)(bppyH)], C, respectively. The solid-state structures of 1 and 2 have been determined by X-ray crystallography. The reaction of 1 with 1 equiv of TlPF6 or [Au(PPh3)]OTF resulted in the production of heteronuclear complexes [Pt(ptpy)2Tl]PF6, 3 and {Pt(ptpy)2[Au(PPh3)]}OTF, 4, respectively. X-ray diffraction data showed...

    Abstract
In the present work we obtained a series of NIR luminescent platinum(II) complexes with a pincer N^N^C ligand based on the conjugated {benzoimidazo[1,2-a]pyrazine} system with the [Pt(N^N^C)L]n+ structural motif (L = phosphine, alkynyl or pyridine-type ligands). We have also synthesized two complexes with bidentate phosphines that demonstrate different types of coordination: 1) as chelating ligand (in case of 1,2-bis(diphenylphosphino)benzene), that led to de-coordination of pyridine ring of N^N^C ligand and formation of a [Pt(N^C)dppb]+ complex; 2) as a bridging ligand (in case of bis(diphenylphosphino)methane) between two {Pt(N^N^C)} fragments in a dimeric complex of type...

Magnetoelastic coupling enabled tunability of magnon spin current generation in two-dimensional antiferromagnets

    Abstract
We theoretically investigate the magnetoelastic coupling (MEC) and its effect on magnon transport in two-dimensional antiferromagnets with a honeycomb lattice. MEC coefficients along with magnetic exchange parameters and spring constants are computed for monolayers of transition-metal trichalcogenides with Néel magnetic order (MnPS3 and VPS3) and zigzag order (CrSiTe3, NiPS3, and NiPSe3) by ab initio calculations. Using these parameters, we predict that the spin-Nernst coefficient is significantly enhanced due to magnetoelastic coupling. Our study shows that although Dzyaloshinskii-Moriya interaction can produce spin-Nernst effect in these materials, other mechanisms such as magnon-phonon...

Development of an experimental method based on Compton backscattering to measure the wax thickness in petroleum pipelines

    , Article Journal of Instrumentation ; Volume 16, Issue 10 , 2021 ; 17480221 (ISSN) Kochakpour, J ; Taheri, A ; Askari, M ; Sharif University of Technology

    Abstract
Wax deposition inside pipelines is a major concern in oil and gas industries, and it must be continuously monitored. In this paper, a mathematical-experimental combined method based on the Compton scattering was proposed to determine the thickness of the wax deposited inside the industrial pipes. For this purpose, first, the relationship between the intensity of the backscattered gamma-rays and the thickness of the wax inside the pipe was mathematically modeled. Then, an experimental setup was prepared for measuring the intensity of the backscattered gamma-rays from the pipes with different wall thicknesses and different wax widths. Finally, the experimentally measured counts were used by...

Facile synthesis and self-assembling of transition metal phosphide nanosheets to microspheres as a high-performance electrocatalyst for full water splitting

    Abstract
The development of noble-metal-free electrocatalysts with enhanced active sites is of great significance for the production of renewable energy on large scale. Ultrathin transition metal compounds (e.g., phosphides and sulfides) have unique structural features but their stability and electroactivity must still be improved for practical applications. We propose a new strategy to synthesis ultrathin sheets of Ni-Cu-Co transition metals on porous nickel and self-assemble them into yarn-shaped microspheres. Enhance catalytic activity and stability are then attained by thermochemical phosphorization without morphological modifications. We employed various analytical techniques including XRD, SEM,...

    Abstract
In this research pure HA and HA-ZrO2-TiO2 nanocomposite coatings (named HZT coatings) were successfully synthesized by merging two usual electroplating methods. In order to deposit pure HA coating a particular saline solution of Calcium and Phosphate was prepared with pH = 4.2, thermodynamically rich of hydroxyapatite. XRD and FTIR studies prove the synthesis of hydroxyapatite during electrodeposition process. To synthesize composite coatings with rational molar ratios of composite agents to matrix, two different concentrations of ZrO2-TiO2 suspensions were added to Ca-P solution at the pH = 4.2 and electrodeposition process done similar to pure HA sample. XRD, FTIR and FESEM (EDS) analyses...

    Abstract
Over the last few years, substantial efforts have been made to develop earth-abundant bi-functional catalysts for urea oxidation and energy-saving electrolytic hydrogen production due to their low cost and the potential to replace traditional noble-metal-based catalysts. Nevertheless, finding a straightforward and effective route to prepare efficient catalysts with unique structural features and optimal supports still is a big challenge. Among the various candidates, metal-organic framework (MOF)-derived materials show great advantages as new kinds of active non-precious catalysts. On the other hand, the controllable integration of MOFs and carbon-based nanomaterials leads to further...

    Abstract
Numerous people suffer from accidental or deliberate exposure to different pesticides when poisoning with aluminum phosphate (AlP) is increasing in the eastern countries. Aluminum phosphate is a conventional insecticide that quickly reacts with water or the moistures in the atmosphere and produces fatal phosphine gas, which absorbs quickly by the body. Oral consumption or inhalation of AlP leads to excessive reaction of the body such as fatigue, vomiting, fever, palpitation, vasodilatory shock, increasing blood pressure, cardiac dysfunction, pulmonary congestion, shortness of breath, and death. The garlic smell from the patient's mouth or exhale is one of the methods to recognize the...
