    Analytical solution for creeping motion of a viscoelastic drop falling through a Newtonian fluid

    Abstract
    In this paper, an analytical solution for steady creeping motion of viscoelastic drop falling through a viscous Newtonian fluid is presented. The Oldroyd-B model is used as the constitutive equation. The analytical solutions for both interior and exterior flows are obtained using the perturbation method. Deborah number and capillary numbers are considered as the perturbation parameters. The effect of viscoelastic properties on drop shape and motion are studied in detail. The previous empirical studies indicated that unlike the Newtonian creeping drop in which the drop shape is exactly spherical, a dimpled shape appears in viscoelastic drops.     Abstract
    In this study, the fundamental problem of unsteady blood flow in a tube with multi-stenosis is studied. An appropriate shape of the time-dependent multi-stenosis which is overlapping in the realm of formation of arterial narrowing is constructed mathematically. Blood is considered as a viscoelastic fluid characterized by the Oldroyd-B model. For the numerical solution of the problem, which is described by a coupled, non-linear system of partial differential equations (PDEs), with appropriate boundary conditions, the finite difference scheme is adopted.     Abstract
    An explicit weakly compressible SPH method is introduced to study movement of suspended solid bodies in Oldroyd-B fluid flows. The proposed formulation does not need further stabilizing treatments and can be efficiently employed to study particulate flows with Deborah to Reynolds number ratios up to around 10. A modified boundary treatment technique is also presented which helps to deal with the movement of solid particles in the flow.     The unsteady flow of blood through stenosed artery, driven by an oscillatory pressure gradient, is studied.     Abstract
    This research deals with the numerical simulation of two viscoelastic uids ow in an open capillary of a reservoir. Oldroyd-B and Leonov models have been used to describe the rheological behavior of polymer solutions. The finite volume method on a structured and collocated grid has been used for discretization of the governing equations. The discrete elastic viscous stress splitting technique has also been used.
