    Abstract
This study developed a groundwater sustainable management index including components of environmental, social, economic and institutional responsibility. Four significant indicators: integrated groundwater footprint, population density, percentage of groundwater used for agricultural and industrial sectors, and density of observation wells were adopted and executed for 443 of Iran’s aquifers. The results indicated that the groundwater sustainable management for 32% of Iran’s aquifers is poor–very poor, and this index is more sensitive to economic and social indicators. Finally, an inverse correlation was observed between the groundwater sustainable management index values and the coefficient...

Electric Power Distribution Planning using Multi-Criteria Decision-Making Techniques and Stochastic Programming

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Babaie Sarijaloo, Farnaz (Author) ; Kianfar, Farhad (Supervisor)
    Abstract
One of the most important issues in every country is electric power planning in all aspects like production and distribution. Electric power distribution planning is a way to control and optimize the usage of energy. According to shortage of resources and high value of them, it is important to have a plan in the amount of energy sending from supplier to consumer. Based on the nature of the problem that decision makers face different criteria from internal and external environment, using multi-criteria decision making methods is an appropriate way. By finding parameters, constraints and capacity of the system, we can choose the best method. On the other hand, in real world most of the...

    Abstract
An increase of wastewater treatment plants and wastewater treatments methods have increased the importance of selection of best wastewater treatment alternative. This selection should not be merely based on the quality of effluent, but the whole factors (economic, environmental, technical and social factor) should be considered. Different methods for the assessment of wastewater treatment plants is used. For example, life cycle assessment is used for the evaluation of environmental impacts or cost-benefit analysis are used for economic analysis. But, for selection of the most sustainable technology whole factors should be evaluated together. Multi-criteria decision-making methods can be...

    Abstract
The tourism and hospitality industry significantly impacts socio-economic development and cultural growth in developing countries. This study develops an integrated multicriteria decision-making and optimization model for partner selection in public-private partnership (PPP) projects in the hospitality industry. The proposed model uses a weighted influence non-linear gauge system to evaluate the partners. A multi-objective optimization model is then utilized to select a partner for each PPP project using a linear programming metric solution approach. A case study demonstrates the applicability of the proposed model in a PPP project in Iran to renovate and convert historic houses into hotels...

Therefore, according to the international standard classification of economic activities (ISIC), two-digit and four-digit codes are specified for each industry. In addition, based on major economic indicators, the status of these...

Supplier Selection and Order Lot Sizing under Volume Discount Environments in a Supply Chain Using Multi Criteria Decision Making Approach

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Hadian, Hengameh (Author) ; Eshraghniaye Jahromi, Abdolhamid (Supervisor)
    Abstract
Traditionally, supplier selection should simultaneously take into account numerous heterogeneous criteria and then is a tedious task for the purchasing decision makers. The global supplier selection problem is more complex than domestic one and it needs more critical analysis. It becomes especially complicated when quantity discounts are considered at the same time. Under such manner, most studies often formulate such a problem as a Multi-Objective Linear Programming (MOLP) problem, and then scale it down to a Mixed Integer Programming (MIP) problem to handle the inherited multi-objectives simultaneously. However, this approach often neglects to consider scaling and subjective weighting...
