Cooperative Search and Localization of Aerial Targets, Using a Group of Fixed Wing UAVs

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology pourhaji, Amir (Author) ; Nobahari, Hadi (Supervisor)
    Abstract
Topic that is investigated in this article include identify and localization a number of aerial target penetrating into a protected by area by a swarm of UAVs is fixed wing. UAVs do not have any prior notice of positioning targets. In addition, it is assumed that lacks any radiation exploitable targets and thus use UAVs for Targets Detection from an active radar system. Obviously this article focus on developing a guidance algorithm UAVs to this particular issue and also as the targets participatory is localization algorithm. In addition, extraction type and performance characteristics radar system required and also performance characteristics of the class of UAVs, which is suitable to...

Design of an Optimal Site Deployment Procedure in Different Air-Defense Scenarios

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Noori, Mohammad (Author) ; Fathi, Mohsen (Supervisor)
    Abstract
One of the most important issues among defense is the increasing of the defense power using present facilities. Therefore, optimal setting and arrangement of equipment by considering different air-to-earth attack of enemy without knowing of properties and capabilities of available systems may not be possible. So, using defense equipment considering properties of them, and paying attention to existence restrictions and effective elements can have an effective role with the design of suitable algorithm. The main purposes of this thesis are: maximization of the efficiency of a defense system against. aerial invader targets, achieving the best arrangement of defense equipment based on suggested...

Localization of Active Aerial Targets Using Targets with Known Location

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Kaviani, Saber (Author) ; Behnia, Feridoon (Supervisor)
    Abstract
Localization of radio, acoustic and vibration wave’s sources by passive systems has many applications in positioning systems, navigation systems, wireless sensor networks, defense, security, and geophysics. RSS, AOA, TDOA, and FDOA are some of the techniques available for passive localization. The performance of TDOA/FDOA techniques does not degrade with distance and multipath, but it may suffer from poor performance for narrowband signals. On the other hand, FDOA technique requires narrowband signals. Thus, the combination of TDOA and FDOA can be suitable for a much wider range of sources. In addition, the TDOA/FDOA method can provide more accurate interference source localization compared...
