    Abstract
A rapid Michael addition of secondary amines to α,β-unsaturated carbonyl compounds has been achieved in good to excellent yields in the presence of water under microwave irradiation. In the absence of water and under conventional method the reaction does not proceed or take place in very low yield after a long reaction time

Optimizing temperature and introducing new process arrangements for elevating clay's longevity based on the known poisons in the separation process of trace olefins from aromatics

    Abstract
BACKGROUND: The clay treatment widely utilized to reduce unsaturated components in aromatic stream has a detrimental effect on catalyst lifetime. Due to the short lifetime of commercial clay, a huge number of studies have been carried out to address this problem over the last decade. This study aims to optimize the temperature for longer serviceability of clay by removal of unsaturated aliphatic components from aromatic streams through the adsorption and catalytic properties of clay. A novel process arrangement is introduced by scheduling the reuse of deactivated clay that is discarded after deactivation. RESULTS: Results showed that the suitable range of temperature for olefin removal is...

Investigation of Internal Rotation About C-N Bond in 4- (phenylacetyl) morpholine by Dynamic Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Spectroscopy

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Bazargani Gilani, Mahdieh (Author) ; Tafazzoli, Mohsen (Supervisor)
    Abstract
In this project, 13 C nuclear magnetic shielding constants and also hindered internal rotation about C-N bond in compound 4 -(phenylacetyle) morpholine are investigated The Factorial Design method was used to obtain the best solution for chemical shift computations and comparison made out in two levels (HF and B 3 LYP). Consequently the (B 3 LYP) method own better data. 13 C NMR Spectra were taken at variable temperature ,and then with simulation of bandshape broadening pattern at coalescence region ,rate constants of exchange were obtained for all temperatures. For simulation of line-shape broadening Spinworks software was used, that with two interfaces made possible simulation with two...

Facile electrochemical detection of morpholine in boiler water with carbon nanostructures: a comparative study of graphene and carbon nanotubes

    , Article Bulletin of Materials Science ; Volume 45, Issue 2 , 2022 ; 02504707 (ISSN) de Oliveira, S. M ; dos Santos Castro Assis, K. L ; Paiva, V. M ; Hashempour, M ; Bestetti, M ; de Araújo, J. R ; D’Elia, E ; Sharif University of Technology

    Abstract
Two electrochemical sensors based on modified glassy carbon electrodes with carbon nanostructures as graphene (GCE–EG) and carbon nanotubes (GCE–CNT) were evaluated for morpholine analysis. The carbon nanostructures were obtained and characterized using X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, Raman spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction, transmission electron microscopy, high-resolution transmission electron microscopy and cyclic voltammetry. All spectroscopic and microscopic techniques confirmed the procurement of graphene and CNT. The electrochemical studies proved the efficient behaviour of both electrodes GCE–EG and GCE–CNT in sensing and detection of morpholine via differential pulse voltammetry....

2,6-Bis(diphenylphosphino)pyridine: A simple ligand showing high performance in palladium-catalyzed CN coupling reactions

    , Article Tetrahedron Letters ; Vol. 55, issue. 30 , July , 2014 , p. 4098-4101 ; ISSN: 00404039 Nadri, S ; Rafiee, E ; Jamali, S ; Joshaghani, M ; Sharif University of Technology
    Abstract
The use of commercially available 2,6-bis(diphenylphosphino)pyridine as a ligand in conjunction with K2CO3, DMAc and TBAB is an effective method for the palladium-catalyzed CN coupling of a variety of aryl halides with anilines, N-heterocyclic aromatic amines, and a cyclic secondary amine. The reactions proceed in good to excellent yield (up to 98%) while the loading of Pd(OAc)2 was as low as 0.025 mol %

Synthesis of some new 1,4-distyrylbenzenes using immobilized palladium nanoparticles on silica functionalized morpholine as a recyclable catalyst

    , Article Synthesis ; Issue 10 , 2011 , Pages 1609-1615 ; 00397881 (ISSN) Niknam, K ; Gharavi, A ; Nezhad, M. R. H ; Panahi, F ; Sharbati, M. T ; Sharif University of Technology
    Abstract
Some new 1,4-distyrylbenzene derivatives were synthesized by using immobilized palladium nanoparticles on silica-bonded N-propyl morpholine (PNP-SBNPM) as a heterogeneous catalyst. These one-pot reactions afforded a range of stereoselective, symmetrical (E)-1,4-distyrylbenzene derivatives with high yields (78-90%). The green catalyst system is recyclable and allows facile product isolation. The recycled catalyst could be reused six times without appreciable loss of catalytic activity
