    A new colloidal technique for the synthesis of lead sulfide nanoparticles

    Abstract
    In this paper, the use of colloid chemistry in the synthesis of 5 A° lead sulfide semiconductor nanoparticles has been described. Here, hydrogen sulfide gas dissolved in water is used for the chemical reaction, instead of purging the H2S gas into the solution, which has an influence on particle size. In this technique, the growth of particles was controlled by the addition of EDTA. A fast evolution of the optical absorption spectrum demonstrated the following synthesis. Soon after synthesis reaction, the sample exhibits a structural absorption spectrum with one well-defined peak in a 240 nm wavelength.     Abstract
    A NiOx−graphene oxide (NiOx−GO) hybrid has been prepared by a simple solution-processed method and was used as hole-extraction material in perovskite solar cells with either gold or carbon as back contact electrode. The impact of GO content on the optoelectronic behavior of NiOx and the photovoltaic performance of the fabricated devices has been studied. Thus, GO incorporation showed a significant improvement in the performance of NiOx-based devices. The best attained efficiency was 13.3%, and it was 45% higher than that with pure NiOx.     Abstract
    Identifying and reducing the dominant recombination processes in perovskite solar cells is one of the major challenges for further device optimization. Here, we show that introducing a thin interlayer of poly(4-vinylpyridine) (PVP) between the perovskite film and the hole transport layer reduces nonradiative recombination. Employing such a PVP interlayer, we reach an open-circuit voltage of 1.20 V for the best devices and a stabilized efficiency of 20.7%. The beneficial effect of the PVP interlayer is proven by statistical analysis of various samples, many of those showing an open-circuit voltage larger than 1.17 V, and a 30 mV increase in average compared to unmodified samples.     Abstract
    In this research, we employed transient photo-voltage rise and decay measurements to investigate the origin of slow unsymmetrical rise and decay profiles in single and triple cation perovskite solar cells. Drastic changes in photo-voltage decay profile were observed upon insertion of Br−, Cs+ and FA+ ions into perovskite structures. In order to explain our observations, the activation energy for ionic defects was measured and an equivalent circuit model was proposed containing both electrical and ionic components.     Abstract
    PbCO 3·PbO and PbCO 3·2PbO compounds were prepared by thermal methods. The structure of each compound was determined by using XRD technique, and their purity was confirmed by analytical methods (98%).     Abstract
    The compound, alkaline lead acetate, Pb(CH3COO)2·PbO·H2O (ALA), was purchased from the Fluka Company. The X-ray diffraction film and SEM electron microgaph of this compound were obtained and reported in this paper for the first time. The thermal behavior of alkaline lead acetate (ALA) was studied using thermogravimetery (TGA) and Differential Scanning Calorimetery (DSC) techniques under an O2 gas atmosphere from 25 to 600°C. Four distinct energy changes associated with weight changes were observed, all of them being exothermic in the DSC results.     Abstract
    The compound, lead hydroxide Pb6O4(OH)4, was prepared by a method used for the first time in the authors laboratory. The compound was identified by XRD and it's purity was determined by analytical methods (100%). The thermal characteristics of this compound were investigated by using a thermogravimetry (TGA).     In this paper, we consider a dual-sourcing model with constant demand and stochastic lead times. Two suppliers may be different in terms of purchasing prices and lead-time parameters. The ordering takes place when the inventory level depletes to a reorder level, and the order is split among two suppliers. Unlike previous works in the order splitting literature, the supply lead time between vendor and buyer as well as unit purchasing prices is considered to be order quantity dependent.     Abstract
    Extensive subsonic wind tunnel tests were conducted on a coplanar wing-canard configuration at various angles of attack. In these experiments, a 60° swept canard was placed upstream of a 60° swept main delta wing. This paper deals with the distribution of mean and fluctuating pressure coefficients on the upper surfaces of both the canard and the wing immersed in a variety of angles of attack. According to the results, presence of canard postpones the vortex formation and growth on the wing to higher angles of attack compared to the canard-off case.     By a single-step supercritical hydrothermal synthesis method, yttrium oxide nanoparticles were successfully prepared without additional treatment. Yttrium oxide nanoparticles were employed as an adsorbent to study the adsorption of some heavy metal ions. This study revealed that nano structure yttrium oxide was an effective adsorbent for removal of lead ions from aqueous solutions

Microemulsion is one of the major processing techniques to synthesize a nanosize, homogenous, and almost agglomerate free ceramic powders.     Abstract
    A modified mixed oxide method which is based on a two step reaction sintering process was designed to obtain single phase PMN ceramics. In this regard, pyrochlore phase formation during calcination process at different calcination temperatures was studied to determine the best soaking temperature for the first step in the specified method. In other words, the calcination temperature in which the least pyrochlore phase produced was chosen as the first step soaking temperature.     Due to environmental concerns traditional eutectic tin-lead solder is gradually being replaced in electronic assemblies by "lead-free" solders. During this transition, nanoparticle technology is also being investigated to see whether improvements in joint reliability for high temperature applications can be made.     The compounds α-lead oxide (α-PbO) and β-lead oxide (β-PbO) were purchased from Merck co. and used for thermal investigations in laboratory. The compound was heated in a thermogravimeter at different temperature, from 25 to 400 °C. The used gas atmosphere was O2. The received products were investigated by X-ray diffraction (XRD) technique. The received product Pb3O4 was confirmed by XRD.     This paper proposes a supervisory Command to Line-of-Sight (CLOS) guidance law with lead angle. The proposed scheme guarantees the missile to fly within the beam, when there is a beam angle constraint. In this regard a supervisory controller is coupled with a main Sliding Mode Controller (SMC).     Lead produced by pyrometallurgy method has a number of impurities. Most of these eimpurities can easily be removed, but this property does not apply in the case of bismuth. Since chemical properties of bismuth are close to the lead, refining of bismuth below 250 ppm is difficult and expensive. Because of problems related to electrochemical discussion of the batteries, bismuth it is possible to reduce below than 20 ppm. Jollivet and Dittmer process is capable of reducing bismuth below 20 ppm. As the main goal of this project is to reduce bismuth to small amounts, Jollivet process was used.     We show that a metal-organic framework (MOF) sustained by a nanosized Ag12 cuboctahedral node can be applied to selectively extract traces of lead(II) ion from environmental water samples. The MOF was characterized by thermogravimetric and differential thermal analysis, scanning electron microscopy, FTIR, and X-ray diffraction. The effects of pH value, flow rates, of type, concentration and volume of the eluent, of break-through volume and potentially interfering ions on the separation and determination of lead were evaluated.
