    Abstract
    In this paper we study the performance of spectrally-encoded spread-time (SE/ST) technique when applied to ultrawideband (UWB) signals in the context of wireless code-division multiple-access (CDMA) communication. In this technique UWB pulses are spectrally encoded with pseudorandom codes that are assigned uniquely to each user. We shall show that the SE/ST ultrawideband system provides an appropriate multi-user capacity in realistic UWB channels, along with the ability of narrowband interference (NBI) suppression.     In this letter we consider optimum code structure for positive optical code division multiple-access (optical CDMA) systems. Positive systems are a class of systems that operate with positive real numbers only. We consider the effect of multipleaccess interference in our model and show that code design for both On-Off Keying (OOK) and Binary PPM optical CDMA systems results in the same solutions.     Abstract
    In this paper, we consider the problem of multiuser detection in the presence of users with unknown signature codes for a synchronous coded CDMA system. Interference suppression for unknown users is done by projecting the received signal on the null space of known users and then using eigenvalue decomposition and subspace techniques to derive a detector that cancels the known interference and successfully mitigates the unknown interference. Significant performance gains over detectors that ignore unknown users and treats them as noise is achieved. © 2001 IEEE

    Abstract
    This paper proposes a novel technique to prove a one-shot version of achievability results in network information theory. The technique is not based on covering and packing lemmas. In this technique, we use a stochastic encoder and decoder with a particular structure for coding that resembles both the ML and the joint-typicality coders. Although stochastic encoders and decoders do not usually enhance the capacity region, their use simplifies the analysis. The Jensen inequality lies at the heart of error analysis, which enables us to deal with the expectation of many terms coming from stochastic encoders and decoders at once.     Abstract
    This paper analyzes the problem of transmitting a Gaussian source over an additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN) channel in the presence of an unknown interference. The goal is to estimate the source at the receiver with minimum mean squared error (MMSE) distortion. We introduce a lattice-based coding scheme and calculate its achievable distortion.     A novel two-level signaling technique in OOC-based fiber-optic CDMA systems is proposed. The users of the system are categorized into two classes.     A novel three-phase magnitude-phase-locked-loop system (3MPLL) for use in the general area of three-phase (power, energy and power electronic) systems is introduced. The proposed 3MPLL suppresses the noise and distortion from the input signal, mitigates the unbalance, and synthesizes the instantaneous positive-sequence component of the input signal; thus it operates as a nonlinear adaptive notch (or band-pass) filter.     A generalisation of Fourier transform-domain technique for narrowband interference suppression in CDMA communication systems is introduced. In this technique, first the sum of a number of sinusoids each modulated by a polynomial is chosen as a model for the narrowband interference. Then, by fitting the received signal on the proposed model, an estimate of the narrowband interference signal is obtained, and its effect is subtracted from the received signal

    In this article we present an all passive optical iterative interference cancellation method for optical CDMA. We propose the receiver structure based on advanced binary optical logic gates (ABOLGs). Since the performance bottleneck in optical communication systems is the conversion from optical to electronic domains for optical detectors, the interference cancellation has been performed in the optical domain.     In this letter, array null steering is formulated as a sparse recovery problem. In addition, a novel null steering scheme for large arrays by perturbing only a few elements is presented. To achieve this goal, compressed sensing (CS) is used to exploit the sparsity of the perturbed elements. The advantages of the proposed scheme are a significant reduction in hardware cost and lower power consumption, as well as less aging of the elements and faster response.     The unique properties of modified Hermite pulses is utilized to develop a novel pulse technique for Ultra Wideband (UWB) communications. The proposed method increases the bandwidth of the pulse up to 10 GHz and overcomes the coexistence problem of UWB and vulnerable narrowband systems through suppressing narrowband interference.     In this paper a directive mesh network operating in the 60 GHz unlicensed band is considered for backhaul support for a small cell mobile network in an urban environment and interference between network links is analyzed. It is observed that while non-line-of-sight stations are adequately isolated by antenna directivity, interference can affect link performance in links that fall in line with each other, namely, line-of-sight links.
