    Abstract
    Nowadays, distributed embedded systems are employed in many safety-critical applications such as X-by-Wire. These systems are composed of several nodes interconnected by a network. Studies show that a transient fault in the communication controller of a network node can lead to errors in the fault site node (called original errors) and/or in the neighbor nodes (called follow-up errors). The communication controller of a network node can be halted due to an error, which may be a follow-up error. In this situation, a follow-up error leads to halt the correct operation of a fault-free controller while the fault site node, i.e. the faulty controller, still continues its operation.     Abstract
    We report follow-up observations of 477 program Near-Earth Asteroids (NEAs) using nine telescopes of the EURONEAR network having apertures between 0.3 and 4.2 m. Adding these NEAs to our previous results we now count 739 program NEAs followed-up by the EURONEAR network since 2006. The targets were selected using EURONEAR planning tools focusing on high priority objects. Analyzing the resulting orbital improvements suggests astrometric follow-up is most important days to weeks after discovery, with recovery at a new opposition also valuable.     Abstract
    Dental professionals are in a unique position to promote smoking cessation among their patients. We evaluated the effects of a brief counselling intervention by a dentist on patients' attitude towards the role of dentists in tobacco cessation programmes. In a semi-experimental study in Tehran, Islamic Republic of Iran, 70 eligible smokers were selected and randomly assigned to intervention and control groups.     Abstract
    The interaction between fault tolerance and energy consumption is an interesting avenue in the realm of designing embedded systems. In this paper, a scheme for reducing energy consumption in conventional standby-sparing systems is introduced. In the proposed method, the primary unit exploits dynamic voltage scaling (DVS) and dynamic power management (DPM) is employed for the spare unit. The framework which is used in the primary unit is composed of a feedback system to follow up workload along with a three-layer yet light-weight energy manager which guarantees hard real-time constraints of the system.     The treatment facility of Albourz Industrial City was established in 1999 at the southeast of Albourz Mountain with an area of 200,000 square meters. Currently, 40,000 cubic meters of industrial wastes are treated daily utilizing biological method of activated sludge up to the second phase without chlorination in this treatment facility.     Artificial neural networks (ANN) have not been used in chronic subdural hematoma (CSDH) outcome prediction following surgery. We used two methods, namely logistic regression and ANN, to predict using eight variables CSDH outcome as assessed by the Glasgow outcome score (GOS) at discharge.
