    Abstract
In this article, a universal collaborative and competitive approach is introduced for deployment of digital collections in an ideal Digital Library for future's educational system. A hierarchical structure is proposed to be used for browsing and searching within mass of digital contents provided for union of curriculums worldwide. The collaborative and open-source aspects of the system guarantee the growth of the Digital Library. On the other hand, the competitive and reviewing aspects guarantee the accuracy of the novel library contents. Two experiments confirm the need for such a universal Digital Library worldwide to enhance learning capabilities, increase accessibility, avoid redundancy...

Analogy Indices in the Engineering of Large Socio-Economic Systems (With Emphasis on Aerospace Education Systems)

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Mirshekarian Babaki, Sadegh (Author) ; Malaek, Mohammad Bagher (Supervisor)
    Abstract
Throughout the history of science, mankind has always invented tools and methods to help him deal with complex problems, means that constitute the science. Systems theory and all the tools and methods introduced by it to analyze and judge simple to complex systems, although relatively recent, has left an enormous impact on current life style by being one those very important sciences that make dealing with complex systems easier. On the other hand, the importance of educational systems and their impact over the success of societies and large systems is close to obvious. In today’s world, having an effective educational system which can deliver required information to people and prepare them...

Pre-mission activities for the space higher education

    , Article 61st International Astronautical Congress 2010, IAC 2010, 27 September 2010 through 1 October 2010, Prague ; Volume 3 , 2010 , Pages 2360-2366 ; 9781617823688 (ISBN) Vernoosfaderani, M. T ; Malaek, M. B ; Jazebizadeh, H ; Sharif University of Technology

    Abstract
Based on general "System Theory", a system when it comes to its intended operational life; must exhibits three distinguished phases of (1) Pre-mission, (2) Mission, and (3) Post-mission. During Pre-mission one evaluates the system elements readiness to conduct the mission; their proper configurations in addition to their support roles to conduct their organizational role. During Post-mission, we check whether our evaluations were in fact, correct to the levels expected. Both pre and post mission phases are necessary for a successful mission. An education system; especially designed for space applications which aims to deliver the necessary workforce for the relevant industries and other...

    Recommender Systems in Education

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Arab Jabal Amel, Setareh (Author) ; Moghadasi, Reza (Supervisor)
    Abstract
With the increasing advancement of technology and available information, finding suitable content for users is one of the significant challenges. Recommender systems have emerged as an effective solution to confront these challenges. Reinforcement learning can be employed as an effective approach to designing and implementing recommender systems. However, there are various challenges and complexities in the context of reinforcement learning applied to recommendation systems. In this context, Online users are treated as the environment, and concepts like reward functions and environment dynamics are not clearly defined, complicating the reinforcement learning process. In this thesis, a...

Applying the system engineering approach to devise a master's degree program in space technology in developing countries

    , Article 60th International Astronautical Congress 2009, IAC 2009, Daejeon, 12 October 2009 through 16 October 2009 ; Volume 10 , 2009 , Pages 8365-8376 ; 9781615679089 (ISBN) Jazebizadeh, H ; Tabeshian, M ; Taheran Vernoosfaderani, M ; Sharif University of Technology

    Abstract
Although more than half a century is passed since space technology was first developed, developing countries are just beginning to enter the arena, focusing mainly on educating professionals. Space technology by itself is an interdisciplinary science, is costly, and developing at a fast pace. Moreover, a fruitful education system needs to remain dynamic if the quality of education is the main concern, making it a complicated system. This paper makes use of the System Engineering Approach and the experiences of developed countries in this area while incorporating the needs of the developing countries to devise a comprehensive program in space engineering at the Master's level. The needs of...
