    Each year, considerable levels of dust particles coming from arid regions of the earth contribute to the atmosphere.     Abstract
    Molecular structural mechanics is implemented to model vibrational behavior of defect free single-layered graphene sheets (SLGSs) at constant temperature. To mimic these two-dimensional layers, zigzag and armchair models with cantilever and bridge boundary conditions are adopted. Fundamental frequencies of these nano structures are calculated, and it is perceived that they are independent of the chirality and aspect ratio. Effects of point mass and atomistic dust on the fundamental frequencies are also considered in order to investigate the possibility of using SLGSs as sensors. Results of exhibit the principle frequencies are highly sensitive to the added mass in the order of 10-6fg....

    Abstract
    Cement kiln dust (CKD) is one of the most important waste materials in the cement industry. The large amount of this material, has encouraged researchers to propose new ways to recycle and reuse it. In this paper, effects of adding cement kiln dust to the ordinary Portland cement, on the physical and mechanical properties of ordinary and lightweight concrete were investigated. Results showed that concrete containing CKD, presents lower workability and modulus of elasticity; however, improvements in strength was observed by adding particular amounts of CKD.     Study of DREAM model Operation for Predicting the Occurrence of Dust Storm in Iran

    In this study, DREAM model operation as a model to predict the occurrence of dust storms has been completed. The aim of this study is to identify capability of the model to predict dust storms in IRAN. The model has been run for June 2014 because on 2 June 2014, Tehran visited a dust storm with a speed of 111 kilometers per hour and yielded a huge economic losse.     Abstract
    Identification of dust storm hotspots using high resolution 1 km MODIS Aerosol Optical Depth (AOD) data obtained by MAIAC algorithm for a region including Iran and its neighbors, is one of the objectives of the present study. By implementing three important statistics on AOD and averaging over the last decade time period (2009-2019), dust sources of Iran, Iraq, Syria, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Afghanistan, and Pakistan were specified. These statistics include frequency of occurrence AOD>0.3, mean and coefficient of variation of aerosol optical depth.     Abstract
    In this study, PM10, PM2.5, and PM1 concentrations were measured from April through September 2010. These measurements were made every six days and on days with dust events using a Grimm Model 1.177 aerosol spectrometer. Meteorological data were also collected. Overall mean values of 319.6 ± 407.07, 69.5 ± 83.2, and 37.02 ± 34.9 μg/m3 were obtained for PM10, PM2.5, and PM1, respectively, with corresponding maximum values of 5337.6, 910.9, and 495 μg/m3. The presence of the westerly prevailing wind implied that Iraq is the major source of dust events in this area. A total of 72 dust days and 711 dust hours occurred in the study area.     Atmospheric aerosols affect the Earth's climate, air quality, and thus human health. This study used the Aerosol Optical Depth (AOD) and the Ångström exponent to cluster different particle types over the Lake Urmia Basin. This classification found desert dust and marine (mixed with continental or local-pollution aerosols) as two main aerosol types over the region, while their sources are not well defined.     Abstract
    Cometary activity is a manifestation of sublimation-driven processes at the surface of nuclei. However, cometary outbursts may arise from other processes that are not necessarily driven by volatiles. In order to fully understand nuclear surfaces and their evolution, we must identify the causes of cometary outbursts. In that context, we present a study of mini-outbursts of comet 46P/Wirtanen. Six events are found in our long-term lightcurve of the comet around its perihelion passage in 2018. The apparent strengths range from -0.2 to -1.6 mag in a 5″ radius aperture and correspond to dust masses between ∼104 and 106 kg, but with large uncertainties due to the unknown grain size distributions....

    Using the newly developed Middle East Dust Index (MEDI) applied to MODIS satellite data, we consider a relationship between the recent desertified regions, over the past three decades, and the dust source points identified during the period of 2001-2012. Results indicate that major source points are located in Iraq and Syria, and by implementing the spectral mixture analysis on the Landsat TM images (1984 and 2012), a novel desertification map was extracted.
