    Abstract
With increasing use of data transmission between digital systems as well as subsystems, the need for more reliable communication is felt. In this research, a new approach to the linear error correcting codes is introduced. Among advantages of this technique are simpler code construction and also decoding algorithm, as well as easier understanding of the basic concept. Based on an earlier paper and also recent work done, we first discuss briefly the use of Karnaugh map and its advantages in constructing simple codes. We then prove a theorem on application of the map to multiple error correcting codes. Using these results, we propose a simple technique that leads to obtaining a code with more...

Design and Implementation of Decoder and Encoder for Error Detecting and Correcting Algorithms for RF Links in Networks on Chip

    Abstract
In the upward trend of advancing technologies in chips manufacturing, utilizing Network on Chip (NOC) solutions is a sensible approach towards overcoming challenges in System on Chip (SOC). The most common form of NOC is the Wired NOC. The continuous physical size reduction of electronic circuits has led to bandwidth deficiency as well as increased temperature in various parts of these circuits. The vast advancement in chips manufacturing industry has made it possible to embed and adapt telecommunication equipment into chips, giving rise to Wireless NOC (WNOC) manufacturing. However, wireless communication increases fault rate; thereby, the system becomes more vulnerable against transient...

A model-based Bayesian framework for ECG beat segmentation

    , Article Physiological Measurement ; Volume 30, Issue 3 , 2009 , Pages 335-352 ; 09673334 (ISSN) Sayadi, O ; Shamsollahi, M. B ; Sharif University of Technology

    Abstract
The study of electrocardiogram (ECG) waveform amplitudes, timings and patterns has been the subject of intense research, for it provides a deep insight into the diagnostic features of the heart's functionality. In some recent works, a Bayesian filtering paradigm has been proposed for denoising and compression of ECG signals. In this paper, it is shown that this framework may be effectively used for ECG beat segmentation and extraction of fiducial points. Analytic expressions for the determination of points and intervals are derived and evaluated on various real ECG signals. Simulation results show that the method can contribute to and enhance the clinical ECG beat segmentation performance. ©...

    Abstract
Non Line of Sight (NLOS) propagation is a challenging issue which cause large errors in wireless localization systems. NLOS is especially a dominant source of errors in metropolitan area wireless networks like cellular ones. We discuss our algorithms within cellular network terminology. This paper contributes two novel algorithms. The first algorithm is to extract the NLOS state of base stations and the second one is a correction algorithm to enhance the measurements accuracy. Our introduced algorithms can easily operate with other wireless localization algorithms and reduced NLOS error. These algorithms are proposed for network-based localization because of the amount of calculation
