    Extension to mixtures of two robust hard-sphere equations of state satisfying the ordered close-packed limit

    Abstract
    Two new hard-sphere EOS are proposed and tested using the same attractive potential terms used by the SAFT EOS. Generalized expressions for the pair RDF at contact value, the compressibility factor, and the excess chemical potentials have been derived. Extension to mixtures is tested using three mixing rules for multicomponent hard-sphere fluids. The proposed EOS combined with the Santos et al. and the Barrio-Solana mixing rules reproduced the compressibility factors and the excess chemical potentials more accurately than the Boublik-Mansoori-Carnahan-Starling-Leland (BMCSL) EOS.     Abstract
    A new hard-core potential model was recently used to calculate thermodynamic properties of some model fluids, including equilibrium properties, such as compressibility factor and internal energy. A Lennard-Jones (LJ) like potential has been used to modify the repulsive part of the potential. The modified potential contains five parameters, namely, R, and HS. The parameter is the tail of the attractive branch whose value changes from zero to one. In this work, we have chosen = 1 to make the potential continuous at separation r = R, where the parameter R is the well width.     A simple equation of state (EoS) has recently been introduced (J. Phys. Chem. B2009, 113, 11977-11987) as (Z - 1)v2 = e + f/ρ + gρ2, where Z ≡ pv/RT is the compressibility factor, v = 1/ρ is molar volume, and e, f, and g are temperature dependent parameters.     In this paper, the Heidaryan and Jarrahian equation of state (Heidaryan and Jarrahian, 2013) has been adapted as a first worldwide cubic EOS to calculate the density of dry natural gases, wet natural gases, and single-phase gas condensates "sweet and sour mixtures" (up to 73.85, 97.63 and 38.37 mol percent of H2S, CO2, and N2 respectively) even when the gas composition is unknown, through new gas specific gravity correlation equations.     In this work, a new automatic workflow for accurate optimal pseudo-component generation from gas condensate mixtures with a large number of components is presented. This workflow has a good insight into thermo-physical and critical properties and introduces only a small amount of loss of information and EOS flexibility. In this regard, the fuzzy clustering is used to classify the components in the mixture based on the similarities in the critical properties.     Abstract
    The clarification of rough non-alcoholic beer (RNAB) and diluted malt extract (DME) was investigated in a pilot plant consisting of a tubular ceramic membrane with nominal pore diameter of 0.45μm. The results of the primary experiments show that the concentration of suspended particles in the RNAB (∼0.05kg/m3) and DME (∼0.2kg/m3) correlates proportionally to turbidity (in NTU) with the factor of 4.45×10-4 (kgm-3NTU-1). During cross-flow microfiltration (CFMF), flux declined drastically with time due to fouling mechanisms and propensity.
