Steady-state creep analysis of polymer matrix composites using complex variable method

    , Article Proceedings of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, Part C: Journal of Mechanical Engineering Science ; Volume 227, Issue 10 , 2013 , Pages 2182-2194 ; 09544062 (ISSN) Monfared, V ; Mondali, M ; Abedian, A ; Sharif University of Technology

    Abstract
A new analytical formulation is presented to study the steady-state creep in short fiber composites using complex variable method. In this new approach, both the fiber and matrix creep at low stresses and temperatures. To analyze the crept fiber, a plane stress model was used. Important novelties of the present analytical method are determination of displacement rates with proper boundary conditions in the crept fibers and also using the complex variable method in creep analyzing. It is noteworthy that the method can be useful to study the creep behavior in polymeric matrix composites due to their high capability of creep. Moreover, another significant application of the present method is to...

Electrodeposition of Ni-WndashB nanocomposite from tartrate electrolyte as alternative to chromium plating

    , Article Surface Engineering ; Volume 25, Issue 5 , 2009 , Pages 382-388 ; 02670844 (ISSN) Hosseini, M. G ; Abdolmaleki, M ; Seyed Sadjadi, S. A ; Raghibi Boroujeni, M ; Arshadi, M. R ; Khoshvaght, H ; Sharif University of Technology

    Abstract
The effect of the bath chemistry and operating conditions on the chemical composition, microstructure and properties of NiWmdashB alloys deposited from tartrate baths on working electrode was studied for the first time by the pulsed current method. The investigations included the measurement of the current efficiencies and determination of the tungsten content in the electrodeposits. UV spectrometry was used for characterisation of complex formation. The grain size of deposits was determined by XRD. Also, the morphology of the deposits was studied by SEM. Amorphous NimdashWB alloys were successfully obtained by electrodeposition from the tartrate bath. The corrosion behaviour of NiWmdashB...

Introducing a new method for estimation image complexity according to calculate watermark capacity

    , Article 2008 4th International Conference on Intelligent Information Hiding and Multiedia Signal Processing, IIH-MSP 2008, Harbin, 15 August 2008 through 17 August 2008 ; 2008 , Pages 981-984 ; 9780769532783 (ISBN) Yaghmaee, F ; Jamzad, M ; Sharif University of Technology

    Abstract
One of the most important parameters in evaluating a watermarking algorithm is its capacity. In fact, capacity has a paradoxical relation with other two important parameters: image quality and robustness. Some works have been done on watermarking capacity and a few on image complexities. Most works on watermarking capacity is based on information theory and the capacity values which are calculated based on these methods are very tolerate. In this paper we propose a new method for calculating image complexity based on Region Of Interest (ROI) concept. After that we analyze three complexity measures named: Image compositional complexity (ICC), Quad tree and ROI method, with three different...
