    Abstract
    Breast cancer is regarded as one of the most frequent mortality causes among women. As early detection of breast cancer increases the survival chance, creation of a system to diagnose suspicious masses in mammograms is important. In this paper, two automated methods are presented to diagnose mass types of benign and malignant in mammograms. In the first proposed method, segmentation is done using an automated region growing whose threshold is obtained by a trained artificial neural network (ANN).     Abstract
    In this paper we use fractal method for detection and diagnosis of abnormalities in mammograms. We have used 168 images that were carefully selected by a radiologist and their abnormalities were also confirmed by biopsy. These images included asymmetric lesions, architectural distortion, normal tissue and mass lesion where in case of mass lesion they included circumscribed benign, ill-defined and spiculated malignant masses.     Abstract
    We propose a new image recovery method to improve the resolution in microwave imaging applications. Scattered field data obtained from a simplified breast model with closely located targets is used to formulate an electromagnetic inverse scattering problem, which is then solved using the Distorted Born Iterative Method (DBIM). At each iteration of the DBIM method, an underdetermined set of linear equations is solved using our proposed sparse recovery algorithm, IMATCS.     The coaxial electrospinning for producing core-shell nanofibers due to control the release profile of drug by the shell layer has been developed. N-carboxymethyl chitosan (CMC)-polyvinyl alcohol (core)/poly(ε-caprolactone) (PCL) (shell) nanofibers were produced via coaxial electrospinning. Doxorubicin (DOX) and nickel ferrite nanoparticles were incorporated into the nanofibers for controlled release of DOX against MCF-7 breast cancer.     In the present study, the tri-layer nanofibers were synthesized via triaxial electrospinning process to control the sustained delivery of Doxorubicin (DOX), Paclitaxel (PTX) and 5- fluorouracil (5-FU) anticancer drugs from nanofibers. The 5-FU molecules were incorporated into the core solution (chitosan/polyvinyl alcohol (CS/PVA)) to fabricate the CS/PVA/5-FU inner layer of nanofibers.
