    Abstract
    Co-deposition of Cu(Zn) and graphite powders with size less than 10 μ was studied. Electrocomposite coatings were prepared by means of the conventional electrodeposition (CECD) and the sediment co-deposition (SCD) techniques. Brass electroplating cyanide bath has been selected out of electrodeposition brass. The effect of parameters such as rate of agitation and current density on the composition of electrodeposition brass and also the effect of the concentration of graphite particles in brass bath, air agitation rate on graphite incorporation within brass matrix and deposition efficiency were studied.     Abstract
    An Artificial Neural Network (ANN) model has been designed for predicting the effects of alloying elements (Fe, Si, Al, Mn) on the recrystallization behavior and microstructural changes of 70/30 brass. The model introduced here considers the content of alloying elements, temperature, and time of recrystallization as inputs while percent of recrystallization is presented as output. It is shown that the designed model is able to predict the effect of alloying elements well. It is also shown that all alloying elements strongly affect the recrytallization kinetics, and all slow down the recrystallization process.     Abstract
    Optimized conditions of hot and cold rolling followed by annealing can result in a balance between recrystallization and rolling textures in order to reduce the planar anisotropy of brass sheets. In this work, the effect of finish rolling temperature, cold reduction and annealing temperature on texture development has been investigated. It is shown that uniform deformation at higher finishing temperature is responsible of formation of a severe Cube and G texture components. In contrast, mechanical twinnings are widely formed at low finishing temperatures. There is also a direct relation between the intensity of Cube component and the amount of cold reduction

    Abstract
    The control of texture and microstructure can be achieved by an appropriate thermomechanical treatment in industrial production. The effects of finish rolling temperature, cold reduction and annealing temperature on texture development and microstructure in Brass sheet were investigated. The role of deformation inhomogeneities on texture evolution has been considered. The formation of transition bands during hot rolling enforced the intensity of cube components. Shear bands increased the intensities of S and Cu components after cold rolling and at higher cold reductions. Transition from Cu to Y and Y to Bs was completed better because of mechanical twinning.     Abstract
    The present research aims to investigate the development of brass reinforced aluminum composites during dissimilar friction stir welding of brass and aluminum. Moreover, to probe the effect of such a metal matrix composite on its bed, the cross-sectional properties of joint area are studied in two aspects of corrosion behavior and hardness distribution. Microstructural investigations through optical and electron microscopy show development of lamellar composites within the top site of the stir zone and aluminum surface.     Effects of the zinc, copper and brass interlayers were studied on the microstructure evolution and mechanical properties of the wrought aluminum friction stir welds. Optical and scanning electron microscopes (SEM) as well as X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis were used for investigation of the distribution, dissolution and reactions of the interlayers, grain structure in the stir zone and fracture surfaces.
