, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Sharifi Rad, Alireza (Author) ; Afshar, Abdollah (Supervisor)
    Abstract
Using of solar spectrum because of its potential for producing green energy is the topic of interest in Current decade. The goal of current research is increment of efficiency by using of a single layer and double layer semiconductor TiO2 – ZnO coating that has been synthesized by sol-gel process, which have anti-reflation and self-cleaning properties that in short time and long time for durability of solar systems can be useful. In first step of this research the single layer TiO2 (by 85nm thickness, measured by FE-SEM) and ZnO (by 65nm thickness) coating with different concentrations of pore forming agents ( plironic f127 for TiO2 and CTAB for ZnO) in coating sol examined and observed...

    Abstract
Here, the authors propose a new approach for realising wideband and polarisation-independent antireflection coating, based on a metamaterial composed of a subwavelength array of metallic pillars with a square cross-section. The effective impedance of the array can be duly adjusted by the size and distance of the pillars. As such, the authors design the effective impedance of the antireflection coating to be the geometrical mean of the impedance of upper and lower media and choose its height to be quarter of operating wavelength. Doing so, the reflection vanishes at the desired frequency and fractional bandwidth of 56% is achieved with a criterion of 10% reflectance (the refractive index of...

Effect of TiO2 Coating on Efficiency of Black Electroless Ni-P Solar Absorber

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Razmjoo Khollari, Mohammad Amin (Author) ; Ghorbani, Mohammad (Supervisor) ; Afshar, Abdollah (Supervisor)
    Abstract
In this thesis Blackening of electroless nickel-phosphorous coating and the effect of TiO2 anti-reflection coating on optical properties of coating was investigated. In the first step, electroless nickel coatings with different amounts of phosphorous on 1050 aluminium substrate deposited. In second step, blackening of coatings by chemical and electroche-mical methods have studied and in final step, effect of TiO2 antireflection coatings with different amount of Pluronic F127 on the optimum black surface and properties of coating investigated. Chemical blackening performed in nitric acid and effect of acid concenteration, Blackening time and temperature studied. optimized condition was...

    Abstract
Preparing a selective, efficient, and low-cost solar absorber is one of the main challenges in solar to thermal energy conversion. In this paper, black electroless Ni–P (ENi-P) solar absorber has been fabricated, and the effect of nanoporous TiO2 antireflection layer (ARL) on its optical and corrosion properties has been investigated. The optimum black coating was obtained by blackening in 9 M nitric acid solution at 50 °C for 40 s, in which a solar absorptance of 99.3% was achieved. Deposition of TiO2 ARL increased the solar absorptance of coating to 99.7% and addition of 0.8 g Pluronic F127 (F127) as pore former, further increased this value to 99.9% and solar-to-heat efficiency of the...

    Abstract
Anti-reflection and self-cleaning coatings on the glass substrate are used to improve the performance of solar systems. TiO2 are one of the most used semiconductors for this application. In this research meso-porous TiO2 coatings (that synthesized by the sol-gel process) with the various extent of porosity (using different concentrations of Pluronic F127, as pore-forming agent) have been investigated. The coating's thickness and porosity and anti-reflective properties were studied by FE-SEM and UV/VIS spectrometer (transmission spectra test), respectively. It was found that the use of F127 leads to the formation of pores smaller than 30 nm and increases the surface roughness from 1.5 (for...
