    Some analytical results in phase coherent transport in quantum wire

    Abstract
    A quantum wire of uniform cross section (but with eventual disorder) with three regions: dot, left lead, and right lead, is considered. Assuming that the same unitary transformation diagonalizes all unit cells of this wire, we propose a new method for the calculation of the Green's function (GF) and the coherent transmission coefficient. In particular, the problem of a uniform dot (simple cubic uniform dot attached to the simple cubic wire), with all onsites equal and all hoppings equal is solved fully analytically.     Abstract
    In this paper, a novel analytical approximation to the nonlinear Duffing-harmonic oscillator is presented. The variational iteration method (VIM) is used to obtain some accurate analytical results for frequency.     Analytical results on ballistic transport in a periodic molecular wire

    Abstract
    In this paper, we study the coherent electronic transport of a periodic quantum wire (P-QW) such as poly-acetylene connected to uniform metallic leads, within the tight-binding (TB) approach and in the ballistic regime. We have calculated the Green's function (GF), density of states (DOS) and the coherent transmission coefficient (TC) fully exactly for a quantum wire. The quasi gap and the energy and wire-length dependence of the GF and conductance for the system are also derived. Finally, we obtain a non-linear equation which gives the bound state energies.     In this study, the average throughput maximisation of a secondary user (SU) by optimising its spectrum sensing time is formulated, assuming that a priori knowledge of the presence and absence probabilities of the primary users (PUs) is available.     Abstract
    We propose an exactly solvable waveguide lattice incorporating an inhomogeneous coupling coefficient. This structure provides classical analogs to the squeezed number and squeezed coherent intensity distribution in quantum optics where the propagation length plays the role of a squeezed amplitude. The intensity pattern is obtained in a closed form for an arbitrary distribution of the initial beam profile. We have also investigated the phase transition to the spatial Bloch-like oscillations by adding a linear gradient to the propagation constant of each waveguide (α). The current study presents an analytical model for a new Hybrid Thermo Piezoelectric micro actuator based on the combination of piezoelectric and thermal actuation mechanisms.     We introduce the new concept of "metalines" for manipulating the amplitude and phase profile of an incident wave locally and independently. Thanks to the highly confined graphene plasmons, a transmit-array of graphene-based metalines is used to realize analog computing on an ultracompact, integrable, and planar platform. By employing the general concepts of spatial Fourier transformation, a well-designed structure of such meta-transmit-array, combined with graded index (GRIN) lenses, can perform two mathematical operations, i.e., differentiation and integration, with high efficiency.     Abstract
    At the present research, a new analytical model is developed for the impact of a deformable blunt projectile to metallic targets using the plastic stress wave propagation theory and the momentum equations. At this model, the deformation of the projectile is considered, too. Also, the effects of dishing and plugging phenomena on failure of the target are investigated. All of the obtained results are compared with the experimental and other available analytical results where good agreement has been observed.     In this paper, we investigate the performance of dense Poisson-point-process-based cellular networks using finite length codewords. Taking the properties of the power amplifiers (PAs) into account, we derive the outage probability, the per-user throughput and the area spectral efficiency in different conditions. Our analysis is based on some recent results on the achievable rates of finite-length codes and we investigate the effect of the codeword length/PAs properties on the system performance.     In this work, we study the conductance of a general periodic quantum dot (QD) attached to ideal semi-infinite uniform metallic leads (nanocrystals), fully analytically. We propose a new general formula which relates conductance to transfer matrix (TM) for an isolated cell in the periodic dot. The equation describes exactly the dependence of the transmission coefficient (TC) on Fermi energy, dot-size, dot-lead coupling, and gate voltage for an arbitrary periodic dot.     Caching gain in wireless networks with fading: A multi-user diversity perspective

    Abstract
    We consider the effect of caching in wireless networks where fading is the dominant channel effect. First, we propose a one-hop transmission strategy for cache-enabled wireless networks, which is based on exploiting multi-user diversity gain. Then, we derive a closed-form result for throughput scaling of the proposed scheme in large networks, which reveals the inherent trade-off between cache memory size and network throughput. Our results show that substantial throughput improvements are achievable in networks with sources equipped with large cache size. We also verify our analytical result through simulations

    A numerical model based on the boundary element method is proposed for the sloshing of a flowing liquid in a three-dimensional tank. Assuming a mean flow in the tank in addition to a perturbation flow, the nonlinear boundary conditions of the liquid free-surface are linearized. Using the boundary element method along with the modal analysis technique a reduced order model is obtained which is used to calculate the fundamental sloshing frequencies and modes in the tank with an inlet and outlet.     In this paper, we propose a new scenario in order to increase the total throughput of a WLAN. In this scenario, some secondary users (SUs) are considered in a primary WLAN such that SUs cooperate with primary users (PUs) in transmitting the primary packets. Each SU sends its packets as well as the primary packets collided at the access point, but overheard successfully at the SU, by random access the primary WLAN. We show that SUs cooperation is able to compensate their adverse effect in the WLAN, so total throughput in the WLAN increases without a significant degrading effect for the stability region of PUs.     In this paper the impact of Static Synchronous Series Compensator (SSSC) on the impedance calculated by distance relay is investigated. Analytical results are presented and verified by detailed simulations. Six different phase to phase and phase to ground measuring units of the distance relay are simulated to resemble the behavior of the relay.     Abstract
    In this paper, the nonlinear oscillation of a pendulum wrapping and unwrapping on two cylindrical bases is studied, and an analytical solution is obtained using the multiple scales method. The equation of motion is derived based on an energy conservation technique. By applying the perturbation method to the differential equation, the nonlinear natural frequency of the system is calculated, along with its time response. Analytical results are compared with numerical findings and good agreement is found. The effect of large amplitude and radius of cylinders on system frequency is evaluated.
