Highly dispersible and magnetically recyclable poly(1-vinyl imidazole) brush coated magnetic nanoparticles: An effective support for the immobilization of palladium nanoparticles

    , Article New Journal of Chemistry ; Volume 40, Issue 2 , 2016 , Pages 1729-1736 ; 11440546 (ISSN) Pourjavadi, A ; Safaie, N ; Hosseini, S. H ; Bennett, C ; Sharif University of Technology

    Abstract
A heterogeneous recoverable catalyst was prepared via the complexation of palladium onto the surface of magnetic nanoparticles coated by a poly(1-vinyl imidazole) brush. The stable, active and reusable catalyst was proven to be highly active in aerobic oxidation of primary and secondary alcohols with excellent yields. Only 0.1 mol% of the catalyst was used to oxidize 1 mmol of primary and secondary alcohols. The catalyst was readily recovered and reused up to 10 times under the described reaction conditions without significant loss of activity

A cheap, simple, and versatile method for acetylation of alcohols and phenols and selective deprotection of aromatic acetates under solvent-free condition

    , Article Synthetic Communications ; Volume 35, Issue 3 , 2005 , Pages 483-491 ; 00397911 (ISSN) Rajabi, F ; Saidi, M. R ; Sharif University of Technology
    2005
    Abstract
Acyclic and cyclic acetates of various alcohols and phenols were obtained in excellent yields under mild reaction conditions in the presence of a catalytic amount of sodium hydroxide under solvent-free conditions and microwave irradiation. Selective deprotection of acetate group from the corresponding phenolic compounds was carried out in the presence of LiClO4· 2H2O. Copyright © Taylor & Francis, Inc

Oxidative deprotection of silylethers, acetals and ketals by oxygen or air in presence of manganese and cobalt salts of 4-aminobenzoic acid supported on silica gel as catalyst

    Abstract
Oxidative deprotection of silylethers, acetals and ketals, to their corresponding alcohols, aldehydes and ketones have been achieved using oxygen or air in the presence of cobalt and manganese salts of 4-aminobenzoic acid supported an silica gel as catalysts. Reactions are clean and catalysts can be recovered easily and reused repeatedly

Efficient aerobic oxidation of alcohols using a novel combination N-hydroxy phthalimide (NHPI) and a recyclable heterogeneous cobalt complex

    , Article Journal of Molecular Catalysis A: Chemical ; Volume 232, Issue 1-2 , 2005 , Pages 95-99 ; 13811169 (ISSN) Rajabi, F ; Karimi, B ; Sharif University of Technology
    2005
    Abstract
A novel combination between N-hydroxy phthalimide (NHPI) and a silica based cobalt (II) interphase catalyst (1) efficiently catalyzes the aerobic oxidation of various types of alcohols to the corresponding carbonyl compounds. The catalyst 1 shows high thermal stability and also could be recovered and reused in combination with NHPI for at least five reaction cycles without considerable loss of reactivity. © 2005 Elsevier B.V. Determination of essential oil components of artemisia haussknechtii boiss. using simultaneous hydrodistillation-static headspace liquid phase microextraction-gas chromatography mass spectrometry

    , Article Journal of Chromatography A ; Volume 1160, Issue 1-2 , 2007 , Pages 81-89 ; 00219673 (ISSN) Jalali Heravi, M ; Sereshti, H ; Sharif University of Technology
    2007
    Abstract
A novel method for extraction and analysis of volatile compounds of Artemisia haussknechtii Boiss., using simultaneous hydro-distillation and static headspace liquid microextraction followed by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (SHD-SHLPME-GCMS) is developed. SHLPME parameters including nature of extracting solvent, headspace volume and design, extraction time, sample weight and microdrop volume were optimized. Comparison of hydro-distillation gas chromatography-mass spectrometry and HD-SHLPME-GCMS showed that the latter method is fast, simple, inexpensive and effective for the analysis of volatile compounds of aromatic plants. By using this method, 56 compounds were extracted and...
