    Abstract
This paper presents a novel approach for the analysis of a fourth-order parabolic equation dealing with vibration of beams by using the decomposition method. In this regard, a general approach based on the generalized Fourier series expansion is applied. The obtained analytic solution is simplified in terms of a given set of orthogonal basis functions. The result is compared with the classical modal analysis technique which is widely used in the field of structural dynamics. It is shown that the result of the decomposition method leads to an exact closed-form solution which is equivalent to the result obtained by the modal analysis method. Some examples are given to demonstrate the validity...

    Abstract
In this paper, modified Adomian decomposition (MAD) is introduced to investigate the effect of the Casimir attraction on pull-in instability of beam-type NEMS theoretically. Two engineering cases including cantilever and double cantilever nano-beam are considered. The proposed MAD method is employed to solve the nonlinear constitutive equation of nano-beams. The basic engineering parameters such as critical deflection and pull-in voltage of nano-beams are computed. It is found that the Casimir forces decrease the pull-in deflection and voltage of nano-beams. On the other hand, the fringing field increases the pull-in deflection while decreases the pull-in voltage of the actuators. As a...

    Abstract
Theoretical and numerical analyses of rotating disks with non-uniform thickness and material properties subjected to thermo-mechanical loadings have been carried out by variable material properties (VMP), Runge-Kutta's (RK) and finite element (FE) methods. The material is assumed to be elastic-linear hardening. A power form function is used to describe the temperature gradient with the higher temperature at outer surface. Von-Mises theory has been used as failure criterion. The effects of geometry, material and thermal loading parameters as well as boundary conditions on radial, hoop and equivalent stress distributions which have not been studied in much detail in previous works have been...
