    Abstract
    Precipitation of asphaltene leads to rigorous problems in petroleum industry such as: wettability alterations, relative permeability reduction, blockage of the flow with additional pressure drop in wellbore tubing, upstream process facilities and surface pipelines. Experimentally determination of the asphaltene precipitation is costly and time consuming. Therefore, searching for some other quick and accurate methods for determination of the asphaltene precipitation is inevitable.     Abstract
    Excess pressure drop induced by inertial effects limits the applicability of Darcy's law for modeling of fluid flow through porous media at high velocities. It is expected such additional pressure drop is influenced by pore/morphology of porous media. This work concerns with fundamental understanding of how throat curvature affects intrinsic properties of porous media at non-Darcy flow conditions using network modeling. Conical, parabolic, hyperbolic, and sinusoidal capillary ducts with three types of imposed anisotropy are used to construct the network in a more realistic manner.     Abstract
    Smart water flooding as a developing technique utilizes modified water chemistry in terms of salinity and composition to prepare the best-suited brine composition for a specific brine/oil/rock system to obtain higher oil recovery efficiency. Huge amount of unrecovered oil is expected to be remained in carbonate reservoirs; however, few research works on incremental oil recovery during smart water injection in carbonate cores at reservoir condition are reported.
