    Abstract
    Using multiple position sensors in the control system of Two-Degrees of Freedom (2-DOF) motors causes it more complicated than that of conventional 1-DOF ones. However, employing a 2-DOF position sensor in comparison with two independent sensors, reduces the complexity, mass and volume of the system. The common 2-DOF sensors are able to determine the position in linear, rotational, and helical motion. Yet, they suffer from accuracy reduction due to the longitudinal end effect.     Abstract
    Accurate modeling of sea clutter and detection of low observable targets within sea clutter are the major goals of radar signal processing applications. Recently, fractal geometry has been applied to the analysis of high range resolution radar sea clutters. The box-counting method is widely used to estimate fractal dimension but it has some drawbacks. We explain the drawbacks and propose a new fractal dimension based detector to increase detection performance in comparison with traditional detectors.     In this paper, an accurate model for the probability density function (pdf) of the random decision variable Y in an ultrafast digital lightwave communication system, utilizing power-cubic all-optical nonlinear preprocessor is presented. The proposed model can replace the prevalent Gaussian approximation, as the accuracy of the latter is discredited by Monte-Carlo simulation. The Log-Pearson type-3 probability density function (LP3 pdf) is shown to appropriately represents the random decision variable Y.     This paper presents modeling of Series Static Voltage Restorer (SSVR) in load flow calculations for steadystate voltage compensation. An accurate model for SSVR is derived to use in load flow calculations. The rating of this device as well as direction of required reactive power injection to compensate voltage to the desired value (1p.u.) is derived and discussed analytically and mathematically using pahsor diagram method.
