    Abstract
    A cyclic forward-backward extrusion (CFBE) process was used as a severe plastic deformation (SPD) technique to produce ultrafine-grained aluminum rods. Yield strength and tensile strength of the specimens increased by increasing the number of CFBE cycles, while elongation to break decreased due to an increase in the grain refinement and microhardness. According to transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and electron backscatter diffraction (EBSD) results, the average grain size was reduced from 120 μm to 315 nm after only 3 cycles of CFBE

    Abstract
    The effects of the most important parameters of hot pressing, including temperature, time and pressure on densification, microstructure and infrared transparency of MgF2 ceramics are discussed. The results show that the absorption or scattering of incident radiation is strongly dependent on the amount of porosity. By increasing the temperature or the pressure, transparency at infrared wavelengths has been increased due to the rise in density. For the longer hot pressing times, a continuous increase in density and infrared transparency has been seen as well.     Abstract
    Nanocrystallization kinetics of amorphous Finemet alloy was studied using Vyazovkin advanced isoconversional method under non-isothermal condition. Well known Kissinger model-fitting method and four isoconversional methods of Kissinger-Akahira-Sunose (KSA), Flynn-Wall-Ozawa (FWO), Tang, and Starink were also used for the determination of activation energy. Differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and X-ray diffraction (XRD) patterns were used for thermal and structural analyses, respectively.     Abstract
    Kinetics of crystallization in an amorphous (Fe0.5Co 0.5)77Si11B9Cu0.6Nb 2.4 (at.%) alloy was investigated using differential scanning calorimetry (DSC). Transformed fraction as a function of temperature was obtained by accurate DSC measurement and the experimental data analyzed with Vyazovkin model-free kinetic method. Reconstructed form of the experimental kinetics model, g(α), clearly showed the crystallization mechanism do not belongs to a single model but almost follows the Avrami-Erofe'ev. Magnetic coercivity and hysteresis loss values of the annealed samples at 823 K were 7.5 A m-1 and 1.2 J m-3, compared to 17.1 A m-1 and 37.1 J m-3 for as spun samples.     Abstract
    The electrochemical corrosion behavior of finemet alloy at various heat treatment temperatures was investigated. Thermal behavior and structural changes were studied using differential scanning calorimetry and X-ray diffractometry, respectively. The electrochemical corrosion of amorphous and annealed samples was investigated in 0.10 M NaOH solution using electrochemical impedance spectroscopy and linear sweep voltammetery. Changes in morphology of the samples before and after corrosion were characterized using optical microscope.     Abstract
    Thin films of Fe73.1Cu1Nb3.1Si14.7B8.2 alloy with 200, 500, and 800 nm thicknesses have been deposited by RF sputtering. Their magnetic properties have been characterized using Alternating Gradient Field Magnetometer (AGFM) and Vibrating Sample Magnetometer (VSM). The effects of residual stresses investigated by nanoindentation experiments were conducted on the as-deposited samples. It is observed that the coercivity of as-deposited films is inversely proportional to the thickness in relation with the residual stress induced during sputtering. © 2017 Sharif University of Technology.     Abstract
    In this study, the kinetics of nanocrystallization of amorphous Fe 73.5Si13.5B9Nb3Cu1 (F1) and Fe77Si11B9Nb2.4Cu0.6 (F2) alloys is investigated. The microstructure and magnetic properties of the nanocrystalline alloys are compared. The crystallization temperature of F2 alloy is shifted towards lower temperatures with respect to F1. Thus, the crystalline volume fraction and the crystalline grain size at specific annealing temperature for the F2 alloy are higher than for the F1 alloy, accounting for the higher coercive force of F2 alloy with respect to the one of F1 alloy.     In this paper, we evaluate the capacity of Multiple-Input Multiple-Output (MIMO) systems using directional antennas in non-isotropic scattering environments. Our analytical analysis approach results in closed-form approximate formulas in low Signal to Noise Ratio (SNR) regime (in contrast to previous research works which have investigated the same problem by employing experimental or simulation frameworks). We propose an upper bound for the introduced approximate error.     In this paper, trace locality of reference (LoR) is identified as a mechanism to predict the behavior of a variety of systems. If two objects were accessed nearby in the past and the first one is accessed again, trace LoR predicts that the second one will be accessed in near future. To capture trace LoR, trace graph is introduced. Although trace LoR can be observed in a variety of systems, but the focus of this paper is to characterize it for data accesses in memory management systems. In this research, the rear part of a gas turbine consisting of a one-stage axial turbine is optimized numerically. As a result of disulfide shuffling in its terminal domains, hPDI exists in two oxidation states with different conformational preferences which are important for substrate binding and functional activities.
