    The concepts of thermal radiation heat transfer are not tangible for many students. Experiments relied on various parameters can clarify the concepts of this mode of heat transfer.A lab-scale set up is described to study the thermal radiation heat transfer experiments. An electrical circuit of the thermopile sensor is designed and manufactured to provide experimental data.The validity of Inverse Square, Stefan-Boltzmann, and Kirchhoff Laws are investigated experimentally in the setup.     Environmental issues are more and more considered because of increasing environmental pollution along the industrial growth. In recent years Microbial Fuel Cells (MFCs) have attracted attention of many researchers as a renewable source of clean energy. In this research, wastewaters of purified terephthalic acid (PTA) plant and polyethylene terephthalate (PET) plant were examined in MFC.
    Voltage generation in the PTA MFC cycle indicated two steady phases. Produced power was 31.8 mW/m2 (normalized per cathode area) and calculated Coulombic efficiency was 2.05 % for COD removal of 74% during 21 days.     In this thesis, we simulate the competition between some investment strategies based on dividends with each other and with mean-variance strategy (Markowitz) in an evolutionary finance framework. We perform simulations by two different approaches. In the first one, we use real dividend data and, in the second one we use dividends that are generated according to a dividend factor model. The dividend factor model which relates the dividends to the macro-economic factors is estimated from data using principal component analysis.     Abstract
    This paper scrutinizes faults in a CAN controller that may result in masquerade failures, and suggests an even parity mechanism to detect them with minimum hardware overhead. To do this, a CAN controller is modeled by VHDL at behavioral level and is exploited to setup a CAN-based network composed of two nodes. A total of 5,500 faults are injected into essential parts of one of the controllers. The results show that about 3.44% of faults terminate in masquerade failures. The results, also, show that Register bank in the CAN controller are the most sensitive portions in which 92.10% of faults occurring in the Register bank result in masquerade failures.     Molecular dynamics (MD) simulations were used to study the mechanical behaviour of β-SiC at nano-scale under tensile loading. Effects of loading rate and tensile temperature on the mechanical properties and failure were studied. Modified embedded-atom method (MEAM) potential and Berendsen thermostat were utilized for modelling. Periodic boundary conditions were employed and the behaviour of material was analyzed under three-axial loading condition at which the stress–strain relation was acceptably size independent.     Robotic Operating System (ROS) is an open source software framework, developed for the needs of robotics software developers and now it has become the standard ¬¬in this area. In this thesis, in order to propose an approach to verification of ROS-based softwares, we defined the mapping from Rebeca modeling language to ROS. To reach this aim, we have studied the main ROS concepts and investigated several ROS-based systems syntactically and operationally. Our mapping includes specifying the corresponding conceptual and syntactical components between Rebeca and ROS, and proposing an algorithm to convert any Rebeca code to the ROS code.
