Modified Catalyst Based on Zeolite: Preparation, Characterization and Application as Catalysts for the Isomerization of C8 Aromatics

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Yazdani, Saeed (Author) ; Gholami, Mohammad Reza (Supervisor) ; Salari, Hadi (Co-Advisor)
    Abstract
In this project Mordinate and Eu-1 zeolite were synthesized by hydrothermal method and then bifunctional catalysts including acid-base zeolite and Pt-Al2O3 metal base were mixed and made using a planetary mill. The modified catalysts were detected by various methods such as XRD, SEM, FTIR. The aim of this project is to synthesize and characterize the modified catalysts and to escalate their catalytic properties. Our focus is primarily on the synthesis of zeolite-based catalysts modified with unique features such as having active acid sites, high thermal stability and appropriate selectivity for the purpose of investigating the mechanism and kinetics of the C8 aromatic Compounds...

Preparation of Metal Nanoparticles/Ionic Liquid Composites and Investigation of Their Catalytic Activity

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Gharegozloo, Nazanin (Author) ; Gholami, Mohammad Reza (Supervisor) ; Salari, Hadi (Co-Advisor)
    Abstract
In this research Fe3O4 magnetic nanoparticles were prepared. To protect against oxidation, a shell of SiO2 was deposited on Fe3O4. Graphene oxide was prepared by the modified Hummer method and supported on the Fe3O4@SiO2 core-shell. Then, ionic liquid layer was impregnated on it. Afterward, PtAu nano alloy were synthesized on the surface of nanocomposite with the different molar ration including 100:0, 75:25, 50:50, 25:75 and 0:100. The as-prepared nanocomposite was characterized by SEM, XRD, and FT-IR analytical methods. For investigation of kinetically activity of catalysts, reduction of 4-nitrophenol with NaBH4 as reducer was used. The adsorption in different times was obtained by UV-vis...

Study of Solvent-Solvent and Solute-Solvent Interactions and Measurement of Solvatochromic Parameters in Mixture of Molecular Solvents with Solvents

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Kohantorabi, Mona (Author) ; Gholami, Mohammad (Supervisor) ; Rahman Setayesh, Shahrbano (Supervisor) ; Salari, Hadi (Co-Advisor)
    Abstract
Solvent-solvent and solute-solvent interactions were investigated in mixtures of Triton X-100 with water, methanol, ethanol, 1-propanol, tetrahydrofuran and butyl acetate. Solvatochromic parameters, including normalized polarity (E_T^N), dipolarity-polarizability (), hydrogen-bond donar (), and hydrogen-bond acceptor () abilities, were determined in these mixtures. We observed similar behavior for E_T^N and  in TX-100/alcohols mixtures. Parameters confirmed the preferential solvation in mixtures of surfactant and solvents.
Experimental data were handled in preferential solvation model. Six binary systems exhibit a complex behavior for all three indicators. It was shown that...
