    Abstract
The present work focuses on the preparation of V2C MXene from Al-V2O5-C mixture heated in a microwave and etched under HF-based process. In the first stage of process, microwave heating caused the formation of an uncommon periodic pattern of V2AlC-Al2O3 MAX phase. In the second stage of process the aggressive leaching (temperature of 80 °C for 96 h) was performed in HF to remove the interlayer aluminum and Al2O3 particles as impurities. The leaching was not completed at room temperature even after 24 h. XRD and FESEM analyses confirmed the successful formation of V2C MXene and its distorted layer, respectively. HRTEM, XPS and Raman analyses also confirmed a perfect structure of V2C MXene. It...

Ultrafast and stable planar photodetector based on SnS2 nanosheets/perovskite structure

    , Article Scientific Reports ; Volume 11, Issue 1 , 2021 ; 20452322 (ISSN) Shooshtari, L ; Esfandiar, A ; Orooji, Y ; Samadpour, M ; Rahighi, R ; Sharif University of Technology

    Abstract
Two-dimensional (2D) transition metal dichalcogenides are promising candidates of photodetectors where they are commonly grown parallel to the substrate due to their 2D characteristics in micrometer scales from exfoliation of bulk crystals or through high temperature chemical vapor deposition (CVD) methods. In this study, semi-hexagonal vertical nanosheets of SnS2 layered have been fabricated on FTO substrate without using Sn source through CVD method at relatively low temperature (500 °C). Due to exceptional band alignment of triple cation lead perovskite (TCLP) with semi-hexagonal SnS2 nanosheets, an improved photodetector has been fabricated. This type of photodetectors fabricated through...

Development of metal matrix composites and nanocomposites via double-pressing double-sintering (dpds) method

    Abstract
Achieving high densification parameter is an essential factor for metal-based composites to represent excellent mechanical characteristics. Among various compaction methods, double-pressing double-sintering (DPDS) has gained the attraction of researchers to fabricate metal-matrix composites (MMCs) as an efficient technique over the last decade. In this process, the powder will be pre-pressed and then pre-sintered; it helps reduce work hardening and prepare the sample for better densification in the next pressing and sintering step. By employing the above-mentioned method, carbon nanotube (CNT) reinforced aluminum nanocomposites; ZrB2 reinforced copper nanocomposites; and CNT reinforced...

    Abstract
Titanium does not react well with the human tissues and due to its bio-inert nature the surface modification has yet to be well-studied. In this study, the sonoelectrochemical process has been carried out to generate TiO2 nanotube arrays on implantable Ti 6–4. All the prepared nanotubes fill with the vancomycin by immersion and electrophoresis method. Drug-releasing properties, antibacterial behavior, protein adsorption and cell attachment of drug-modified nanotubes are examined by UV–vis, flow cytometry, modified disc diffusion, BSA adsorption, and FESEM, respectively. The most uniform morphology, appropriate drug release, cell viability behavior and antibacterial properties can be achieved...
